Our facilities are built or retrofitted with LED lighting� LED lights produce better lighting thus providing a safer environment� Compared to older technology, LED lights reduce power consumption and have a longer service life� LED lights are part of an overall goal to reduce emissions and operate our buildings with less waste�
The EXPERT System is used to cool many of our warehouses� This system uses selfcontained, efficient motors, that operate with a reduced electrical draw� Freon, the synthetic refrigerant solution, reduces operational cost through decreased power consumption, water usage, and maintenance need�
Our cooling systems are managed by technologically advanced remote monitoring systems� Remote access allows for quicker reaction times for out of range zones� We maintain tighter ranges so that our refrigeration can run more efficiently preventing big swings in temperature that lead to greater energy output�
Our warehouse facilities utilize standard dock door sizes; however we focus on insulation and proper seals to keep our cooled dock temperatures in range� Welldesigned sealed and maintained loading docks and vertical dock levelers reduce overall power consumption� These tighter seals also prevent outside contaminants from entering the warehouse, which keeps food products and Team Members safer�
Trinity Logistics corporate headquarters in Seaford, DE, uses LED lighting throughout the building� Trinity Logistics is Responsible Care Certified® , which provides a benchmark for compliance, sustainability, and continual improvement� Trinity Logistics commits to protecting the health and well-being of its Team Members while striving to reduce waste and pollution�
As one of our newest warehouses and office buildings, Honor Foods was built with environmental impact and Team Member comfort in mind� The property is built next to the Delaware River, and is equipped with stormwater retention basins to mitigate erosion and degradation of the watershed� Green spaces surround our warehouse and are accessible for Team Member breaks and planned appreciation events�
We maintain a fleet of tractors and trailers that are designed from the ground up for safe and efficient operation� Our tractors and trailers incorporate aerodynamics, automated transmissions, and low rolling resistance tires to increase our fuel MPGs and thus reduce environmental impact� Automatic tire inflators/deflators are used to optimize tire pressure for each load we haul� We invest in safety features, including antilock brakes, roll stability systems, active braking technology, LED lighting, and digital event recorders� We make every possible effort to ensure our fleet is efficient, comfortable for our drivers, and safe for other motorists and pedestrians�
Since 2008, Trinity Logistics has been a recognized SmartWay Partner overseen by the Environmental Protection Agency� The SmartWay Program involves shippers, logistics companies, and carrier partners who aim to reduce the pollution and greenhouse gas emissions that result from freight shipping� This involves annual measurement and tracking of GHG impacts as reported by participating cargo carriers� The SmartWay Partner designation allows shipper ability to select a SmartWay carrier specifically for their shipments� Trinity has about 15% of SmartWay eligible carriers in its network �
LTL Shipment quotes from Trinity’s Transportation Management platform “Banyan” now provide carbon calculations for quotes with integrations to Patch�io� Patch� io is a platform that gives visibility to companies of their carbon footprint in order to potentially reduce emissions and help scale unified climate action� This effort is becoming more and more important for companies across the world to combat climate change and create carbon offset opportunities� Patch�io will give an estimate of a customer's Co2 emissions�
Route planning for our fleet is performed by software applications to provide the most efficient route with safety in mind� Primary roadways are preferred to avoid residential and pedestrian traffic� Efficient routing also reduces fuel usage and driver fatigue�
Our leased tractors are equipped with digital event recorders� These provide digital video, audio, and telemetry which can be valuable in providing driver feedback and development for safer and more efficient driving� DriveCam also provides impartial data when our fleet or drivers are involved in an incident� Burris complies with all state and federal agencies when these claims occur�
Burris Logistics provides a robust health insurance benefit program for Team Members and their families� In addition, we are dedicated to enhanced mental health programs in response to needs dictated by national trends� New EAP programs provide more robust employee mental health and counseling services� Enhancements to our family support plan includes Infertility Support, Paid Parental Leave, and Adoption Assistance� *as of January 1, 2024
Our EAP programs are supplemented by Marketplace Chaplain services and telehealth visits through our insurance plan� Marketplace Chaplains is a program where chaplains are on site at Burris facilities up to two times per week � Chaplains are religion agnostic, and offer support for Team Members in need of someone to talk to�

The Good Samaritan Fund was established for the times when a Team Member experiences a hardship beyond their or their family’s ability to manage it� Qualifying hardships include medical emergencies, accidental death, or major financial hardship� The Good Samaritan Fund is anonymous, and can be coupled with support from employee benefits program and/or our affiliation with the United Way to ensure our Team Members or families are cared for�
Danbee Investigations is an employee program providing a toll-free number for employee reporting of incidents of theft, abuse, harassment� This allows caring Team Members an anonymous voice to report incidents that will negatively impact their company, peers, and compensation�
As part of our commitment to a diverse workplace, we are actively pairing minorities in leadership positions with others interested in developing leadership skills� These mentor candidates work on personal development to learn the skills that will make them future leaders� Diversity at a leadership level is something that Burris Logistics is committed to via this program�

Our company’s commitment to safety is people-centered� We focus on the safety culture and implement best practices to elevate Team Member skill level and decrease injury� To support safety, we have created a Team of region-specific safety professionals, including safety captains and athletic trainers, to elevate our safety standards� These professionals span the enterprise and are present in warehouses and offices across our organization�
Our offices are equipped with safety education collateral, first-aid, and AED’s� Team Members are offered training to assess and assist with workplace injuries�
In response to COVID-19, we updated our business continuity plan to ensure that we remained operational through the pandemic� We engaged in social distancing, mask-wearing, catered food, temperature checks, work-from-home policies, and on-site testing� Our protocols adhered to state and CDC guidelines focusing on deep cleaning of shared spaces and equipment as well as health screening upon building entry�
Trinity Logistics participates in its local emergency planning committee (LEPC) near its HQ in Delaware� LEPCs are required by FEMA to develop emergency response plans for the community with stakeholder participation� LEPCs are a tremendous resource to integrate hazmat planning and response by partnering with local governments and industries, such as the chemical sector and transportation businesses�
The Burris Logistics Computer based training program for our fleet CDL drivers focuses on safety, defensive driving, and regulatory compliance� We have a library of over 400 videos that we deploy monthly for planned development as well as coaching/training opportunities�
Every motor carrier that Trinity chooses to work with undergoes a strict vetting process� When a carrier wants to join Trinity’s network, we first verify their authority with the FMCSA, and continue monitoring their authority and insurance information on a consistent basis�
In 1988, the Burris family started the Sussex County chapter of the United Way� Jack Burris, served on the United Way Board of Directors and was pivotal in merging the Sussex Country Chapter with Kent County in Delaware� Burris Logistics and its Team Members continue to contribute time and fundraising efforts to the United Way chapters in their community� Burris Logistics matches employee contribution dollar for dollar�
The Trinity Foundation is a federally recognized independent non-profit organization founded and operated by Team Members of Trinity Logistics� Our purpose is to continually improve the lives of others by serving and investing in our communities through promoting wellness, inspired giving, and influencing our future leaders� The Trinity Foundation has been able to give over $700,000 to assist and strengthen our communities in over 100 different organizations nationwide through Team Member promotion of events to include Big Pink Volleyball, Heart and Soul 5K, and Thanksgiving for All�
