FACILITY DESIGN LED LIGHTS Our facilities are built or retrofitted with LED lighting. LED lights produce better lighting thus providing a safer environment. Compared to older technology, LED lights reduce power consumption and have a longer service life. LED lights are part of an overall goal to reduce emissions and operate our buildings with less waste.
COOLING SYSTEMS The EXPERT System is used to cool many of our warehouses. This system uses selfcontained, efficient motors, that operate with a reduced electrical draw. Freon, the synthetic refrigerant solution, reduces operational through decreased power consumption, water usage, and maintenance need.
REFRIGERATION CONTROL SYSTEMS Our cooling systems are managed by technologically advanced remote monitoring systems. Remote access allows for quicker reaction times for out of range zones. We maintain tighter ranges so that our refrigeration can run more efficiently preventing big swings in temperature that lead to greater energy output.

FACILITY DESIGN LOADING DOCKS Burris facilities utilize standard dock door sizes; however we focus on insulation and proper seals to keep our cooled dock temperatures in range. Well-designed sealed and maintained loading docks and vertical dock levelers reduce overall power consumption. These tighter seals also prevent outside contaminants from entering the warehouse, which keeps food products and team members safer.
CO2 MITIGATION SYSTEM Team member safety is assured in our E-commerce pick mod rooms by continuously testing CO2 levels in the air. CO2 gas is exhausted out of the area and constantly monitored. Alarms are in place to inform should concentrations of CO2 from dry ice increase

FLEET
BURRIS LOGISTICS AND HONOR FOODS FLEET DESIGN We maintain a fleet of tractors and trailers that are designed from the ground up for safe and efficient operation. Our tractors and trailers incorporate aerodynamics, automated transmissions, and low rolling resistance tires to decrease our fuel MPGs and thus environmental impact. Automatic tire inflators/ deflators are used to optimize tire pressure for each load we haul. We invest in safety features, including antilock brakes, roll stability systems, active braking technology, LED lighting, and digital event recorders. We make every possible effort to ensure our fleet is efficient, comfortable for our drivers, and safe for other motorists and pedestrians.

This program sets initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution caused by freight transportation. Our growth as a freight brokerage company alongside the freight industry is our impetus to help find opportunities to reduce fuel consumption and pollution.

These provide digital video, audio, and telemetry which can be valuable in providing driver feedback and development for safer and more efficient driving. SAFETY COMMITMENT TO WORKPLACE SAFETY Our company’s commitment to safety is people-centered, as compared to an older compliance-based program. We focus on the safety culture and implement best practices to elevate team members' skill level and decrease injury. These professionals span the organization and are present in warehouses and offices across Burris Logistics. Our offices are equipped with safety education collateral, first-aid, and AED’s.
