At One22, our programs are designed to provide stability, whether in times of everyday hardship or full-blown emergencies. In 2024, we continued to see rising demand for assistance, not only during crises but also for ongoing financial strain affecting families and individuals in our community.

This past year reinforced our role as a critical responder to local and economic emergencies. Whether facing a landslide, a gap in summer meals for children or a personal financial burden, we are uniquely positioned to provide direct support to the people in our community in ways no other organization can.

MISSION

One22 invests in and supports our neighbors who face financial and cultural challenges.

1,807 households served, representing 3,596 individuals

+29% increase from 2023

Emergency preparedness is embedded in our work because we know challenges will always arise. Many of our clients lack safety nets, making them especially vulnerable when hardship strikes. That’s what we’re here for.

Beyond immediate relief, 2024 saw us focus on building long-term resilience. We expanded our Financial Empowerment programs to fill a widening gap in financial education resources for low- to moderate-income individuals. By equipping our community with the tools to navigate financial challenges, we are not just meeting urgent needs—we are helping to build a stronger, more stable future for our neighbors.

VISION

A diverse Greater Teton community, with opportunities for all residents to thrive.

Virtual and in-person

We embed empowerment into everything we do, equipping our clients with education and resources to build financial stability and personal growth. Our Financial Empowerment programs aim to prevent financial crises and help participants take an active role in shaping their financial futures.

In 2024, we deepened our commitment to empowering our clients by launching free community Financial Empowerment Workshops. These workshops were designed to help low- to moderate-income community members take incremental yet meaningful steps toward financial stability. Participants gained knowledge and confidence in essential financial topics—including budgeting, saving, credit and debt—enabling them to build informed financial plans.

“I am now able to teach my children about the importance of building savings and having an emergency fund. Thanks to these savings, I was able to cover the first/last/deposit for our new apartment and pay for unexpected car repairs.”

— Financial Empowerment Workshop participant

EXPERT-LED GUIDANCE

Nationally and locally recognized financial professionals led sessions, including our keynote speaker, Jen Hemphill—an award-winning podcaster, Accredited Financial Counselor and author.

Lending Circles: Strengthening Credit, Building Opportunity

Financial growth starts with access: to education, credit and the opportunity to build a secure future. Through Lending Circles, a practice used around the world and formalized by Mission Asset Fund (MAF), we facilitate a safe, interest-free way for community members to borrow money while strengthening their credit.

Lending Circles bring people together to support one another financially. Participants contribute monthly loan payments and take turns receiving zero-interest social loans ranging from $300 to $2,400. Every payment is

reported to credit bureaus, helping individuals build or establish credit, a critical step toward long-term financial security.

In 2024, we facilitated four Lending Circles, with each of the 26 participants receiving a one-time loan of $1,400.

Participants use these funds in a variety of ways—some pay off debt or build their savings, while others put it toward large purchases like a car.

Responding When Our Community Needs Us

At One22, emergency response is part of our daily rhythm. When unforeseen events disproportionately impact our community’s most vulnerable members, we step in with a range of critical resources.

Teton Pass Landslide: Swift Action in a Time of Crisis

When a landslide on Teton Pass severed our community’s most vital transportation route, we took immediate action to support those impacted. As a member of the Teton County Emergency Management Plan, we are at the forefront of coordinating response efforts, especially as it relates to financial relief and critical food support. Recognizing the immense strain on commuters, we expanded the emergency assistance we are known for and also launched a Temporary Emergency Relief for Commuters program. This initiative provided one-time stipends for gas or groceries to offset increased expenses for commuters. For many, this crisis deepened an already fragile financial situation. Commuters are a critical part of Jackson’s workforce, economy and spirit. By delivering immediate financial relief, we helped stabilize households impacted by this unpredictable economic challenge. When a crisis like this arises, that’s what we’re here for.

291 commuters received stipends for gas and groceries—71% of applicants were new to One22

34 households received emergency financial assistance, supporting 55 adults and 31 children

The most common industries recipients worked in were Construction/Architecture/ Engineering, Food and Beverage and Health and Human Services

Nourishing Kids, Supporting Families: Summer Meals Initiative

When a long-standing summer meal program was unexpectedly canceled, local youth faced the summer without a reliable source of meals. Recognizing the urgent need, we mobilized a plan alongside the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, Hole Food Rescue, Teton County School District #1 and the Fund for Public Education, launching the Summer Meals Initiative.

One22 distributed meals at Jackson Elementary and also delivered them to a variety of youth organizations running summer programs. Over the summer, we provided 2,301 free breakfasts to youth in our community. We believe in the power of strong partnerships when facing unexpected challenges like this. By working collectively, we effectively responded to a sudden gap in services, ensuring local youth had consistent access to nourishing meals all summer long.

These programs were made possible by major funding from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, as well as numerous contributors.

Breaking Barriers: Expanding Language Access

Language should never be a barrier to essential services, yet many in our community face challenges due to Limited English Proficiency. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 28.2% of Jackson residents speak a language other than English at home, highlighting the need for language access solutions. At One22, we provide navigation and support for Limited English Proficient

Giovanna Carriero-Contreras, ATA-certified translator and a master licensed court interpreter, plays a key role in leading many Language Access trainings.

Mastering the Basics of Translation

We hosted a five-week workshop to strengthen translation skills for bilingual individuals and interpreters supporting local agencies, nonprofit organizations and businesses. Led by industry professionals, the course equipped 11 participants with the foundational knowledge needed to provide accurate and effective translations. Our first translation-specific workshop immersed participants in translation theories, terminology research, cultural references, editing, ethics, the use of AI, translation certifications and more, empowering individuals who bridge barriers in critical areas such as education, healthcare and social services.

individuals while working to expand language assistance services through trainings and events. In 2024, we introduced two new offerings—a translation workshop and a Language Access Planning event—helping bilingual individuals and local organizations improve communication, bridge language gaps and build a more inclusive community.

The Community Interpreter® International

Since 2017, we have hosted The Community Interpreter® International. This 40-hour certificate program equips bilingual individuals with the skills and ethical foundations needed to provide accurate and professional interpretation in medical, educational and social service settings. By offering this training annually, we strengthen the quality of interpreting services across the valley, ensuring all community members can access vital resources without language barriers. In 2024, 13 participants gained essential skills and connected with organizations in need of qualified interpreters, expanding career opportunities and promoting language access in the community.

“This course enhanced my understanding of the importance of having quality human interpreters. Being bilingual isn’t enough, the skills and attention to detail that I learned in this course rewired my knowledge on the matter and have influenced how I show up when I interpret or provide any language service.”

— The Community Interpreter® International participant

Driven by Purpose

Our Team in Action

At One22, our work is driven by a deep commitment to others. We show up, stand alongside, celebrate with and support our community through times of challenge and joy. We do this work because we are passionate about supporting our neighbors and bringing meaningful change to their lives. We also take great pride in doing this powerful work together, as Team One22.

Together We Thrive The Volunteer Efforts that Make Our Work Possible

Our food assistance and seasonal drive programs provide fun and engaging opportunities for community members to roll up their sleeves and join our work. Whether it’s packing bags full of nourishing groceries, filling up backpacks with crucial school supplies or wrapping gifts during the holiday season—there is something magical about seeing the impact that these volunteers make every day for One22.

In 2024, we launched a new seasonal drive experience, Stock It Up, challenging folks to create food drives that focused on just one or two types of items. This helped us add donations almost immediately to our Jackson Cupboard inventory while receiving the things we needed the most. In total, the Stock It Up campaign resulted in 12,444 pounds of donated items and $12,444 in a matching gift!

Beyond Stock It Up, yearly engagement events powered by our volunteers include Scouting for Food, School Supply Drive, Holiday Gift Drive and general community drives. The contributions of the hundreds of volunteers and organizations who put in time and effort to ensure the success of these programs cannot be overstated.

Thank You to Our Generous Donors

“We were honored to collaborate with One22 on the programming, design and space planning for their relocation. A primary goal was to bring all of their resources under one roof while creating a dignified space for both staff and clients. We are proud to support an organization whose diverse and impactful services make a meaningful difference in our community.”

Partners Are the Power of Our Work

As a resource center, we know that no single organization can meet all the needs of a community alone. That’s why strong partnerships are at the heart of what we do. Through strategic collaboration, resource navigation and referrals, we work alongside our partners to ensure that families and individuals receive the right support at the right time. Our collective efforts create a stronger, more connected community. Thank you to our partners for making this work possible!

A Note from Leadership on One22’s Financial Position

One22 serves as a central point of assistance with basic needs, such as housing and food support, for hardworking low- to moderate-income members of our community. To do this, we rely almost entirely on supporters who are closely tied to the urgency of our mission: private philanthropists of all levels and local government.

Whether donors give directly to One22 through Old Bill’s Fun Run, via a donor advised fund, private foundation or an anonymous gift, we see time and again that our

mission is made possible by people who have personal connection to and compassion for the economic challenges facing Jackson Hole’s workforce. Likewise, local leaders at the Town of Jackson and Teton County granted funds that comprised 10% of our budget in 2024*, and we are proud to partner with the Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Center and Teton County Library to offer satellite food cupboards at these locations.

GRANTS

We are commonly asked about whether there is state and federal funding of our mission. While there was specific funding to us during 2020-2023, and we continue to seek out new sources of support, our federal funding comprises just 3.2% of our budget, or approximately $130,172 in 2024. As inflation and other indicators of economic challenge increase, the importance of continued local engagement—and specifically private donor support—with the needs of our community is more critical than ever.
