However, responses to Q17 indicate that 48 respondents representing 96% believe gender equality when stood for will promote a better economy and the democracy of the Nation will be better. While 18 respondents representing 36% believe there will be more peace and tranquility. Interpreting these means that if gender equality is not stood for, part of the challenges to a sustainable democracy in Nigeria will be challenges of a poor economy and a miserable democracy; and of course, challenges with peace and tranquility, which are evident with the current growing insecurity and shrinking economy of the country. Q21 further established other elemental challenges of a sustainable democracy in Nigeria in relation to gender equality. The following table and chart present the responses.
