ARMIN KARU OEG • Chairman of the Supervisory Board
Ready, Steady. Go! Back in profit and going online were the two key terms that characterised the year 2010 for shareholders of Olympic Entertainment Group and for the team. fter a two-year struggle against a sharp decline in the gaming market caused by the global economic crisis, the Group managed to end the 2009/2010 financial year back into profit. What is important is not the profit figure – although every shareholder expects maximum return from their investment – but clear proof that we are on the right track. If you look at how our market share has grown in several countries it goes without saying that we have managed to be more successful than our competitors in adapting to a new situation and making the necessary changes. It is necessary to understand how this has been achieved and, what’s more important, what will be done next?

Entering online casino gaming market
OEG’s first twelve years of operations were aimed at becoming a true professional in its field of business. When one looks back at its history of more than four years as a public listed company, three different phases stand out. The first phase was one of aggressive expansion where the main focus was on exporting its know-how to new markets as quickly as possible. This was followed by a phase of costcutting and restructuring aimed at overcoming a global economic crisis and emerging from it successfully. Finally, in 2010 we reached the third phase which, by its essence, may be labelled as a phase of a strong and efficient leadership marked by compounding various strengths. Thanks to this history we have an impeccable reputation, an extremely good know-how of our business area, an international reach and an efficient organization – all this to make sure that we continue to develop and expand boldly, but smartly.
LICENSE NO. 1 OEG stepped into the market of online gaming last year. It was a major change for the Group that had, until then, operated in seven countries because if signified the first step in becoming a truly global enterprise whose customers may be physically thousands of kilometres away. The opportunity to implement these well-prepared plans came when new legislation regulating online gaming entered into force in Estonia. Only a few days after the introduction of the new law, Olympic Casino Eesti AS, a member of OEG Group, was issued License No. 1. A few days later, in February 2010, OEG opened Olympic-Online.com, Estonia’s first licensed online casino and poker room.
Although both the online gaming market and competition have grown beyond recognition over the last decade, Olympic-Online.com succeeded in winning the loyalty of its players at home already during its first year of operations. We are convinced that the awareness and image of the Olympic Casino brand give us a good competitive position for offering online gaming in our current markets and in new future markets. It means that we have made the first specific steps in becoming a truly global service provider.
READY FOR A NEW EXPANSION OEG has maintained its focus on possible expansions into new markets in recent years since it is a strong belief of ours that, in order to be truly successful, one must not only know how to cut costs but also how to invest smartly and expand. Recent years have affected everyone in the gaming business. This is creating an opportunity for stronger operators and for companies that are able to adapt to these new conditions faster than others. This also gives OEG excellent opportunities for expansion – either by increasing its market share or taking over companies who have not been so adaptable. In addition to strengthening our leadership position on our current markets, today we are also ready for new challenges and in the next two years the Group has plans to expand also geographically. As any successful athlete who has trained long and hard before the new season, with an aim at being at the peak of their form when it really matters, so has Olympic Entertainment Group been laying a strong foundation and is ready for new achievements.

Making profit, today and tomorrow
In 2010, Olympic Entertainment Group proved that several of its tough decisions taken over recent years were justified: the company is back in the black, we have a strong position in both cash flows and capitalisation, we work even more efficiently and we continue to invest in the Group’s business development.
espite ending the two previous years with a loss, we maintained a clear vision of how to make OEG more efficient and profitable and how to emerge from the global economic crisis among the winners. Although in 2010 we closed only two casinos, 3% of the total, our operating costs fell by as much as EUR 21 million (16.1%). At the same time the market share of the Group’s subsidiaries in markets where we have a longer history increased notably, growing from 49% in 2009 to 53% in Estonia, from 13% to 20% in Latvia, and from 60% to 68% in Lithuania.
D
OEG posted some good results also from its newer markets too, with the biggest annual growth (26.5%) coming from Slovakia, a country where OEG opened its third Olympic Casino in the fourth quarter. The newest Olympic Casino is located in Eurovea Galleria, Bratislava’s most modern shopping centre, and cost EUR 0.4 million to open. Success in the competition situation of specific markets clearly proves that the efficiency reached by the Group is more than an internal measure of success and that our choices so far have been right for the business and supported by our customers who are looking for casino entertainment. The Group’s consolidated revenue was EUR 112.5 million in 2010, an increase of 3.4% from a year earlier. Group EBITDA amounted to EUR 21.5 million in 2010, having increased 447.8% in a year (2009: EUR 3.9 million). OEG ended the year with a profit of EUR 1.1 million (2009: a loss of EUR 21.3 million). Although we are still far from the profit figures that we had four or five years ago the trend is clearly upward and it fuels optimism.
10
New challenges In recent years we have repeatedly emphasised that efficiency and cost-cutting alone is not enough and, in order to be successful, the organization must continue to invest in its development. In 2010, OEG was the first company in Estonia to be issued a license for operating remote gaming and in February it opened its first online casino and poker room at olympic-online.com. The operating income of this business was EUR 1.3 million in the first year. Although provision of services online is giving this business direction a global dimension, our key objective was to establish ourselves successfully on the Estonian market. Our next plans for Olympic-Online will focus on the markets where we are recognised thanks to our land-based casinos and where the Olympic Casino brand enjoys high public awareness and credibility.

We will continue to monitor the development of the casino business in Europe and elsewhere in the world. In the next couple of years our objective will be to expand our geographical reach also to our main business area, i.e. the operation of land-based casinos. I am convinced that the lessons of the global economic crisis have made OEG and its whole team a lot smarter, more efficient and stronger and I believe that we are emerging from the crisis as a winner and that we are ready for new challenges.

PRIIT PAJUMAA Olympic-Online CEO
Going global by
going online
In February 2010, OEG entered the global gaming market by launching Olympic-Online.com, Estonia’s first official online casino and poker room.
T
he online casino, which supports six different languages, has obtained a nice rhythm in its first year of operations and has attracted tens of thousands of people from 60 countries. During its launch year, the Group earned EUR 1.3 million in operating income from organizing remote gaming. The online casino business has been of interest to OEG for years but, as a listed company, we did not consider it right to operate on an unregulated market. When, at the beginning of 2010, a new Gaming Act entered into force in Estonia, Olympic Casino Eesti AS obtained the country’s first licence to operate remote gaming. The Group was finally able to open an online casino and make the operations of OEG even more international than earlier. The online casino, which was opened in cooperation with Playtech, the world’s leading developer of casino software, offers more than 150 different casino games. For the first time ever, Estonian poker fans have an opportunity to play in the worlds’ largest poker network, iPoker, which is widely renowned for its broad range of games and for its limits which enable players to either play for free or for stakes starting from as little as one cent.
Playtech, our choice of partner, develops software for online casinos and full-service solutions for the world’s leading gaming operators. In this field Playtech is clearly setting a trend as a software developer and its iPoker is the world’s largest stand-alone poker network. It includes more than 120 poker rooms and over 30,000 simultaneous players.
Olympic-Online Team Pro Shortly after opening the online poker room we set up Olympic-Online Team Pro, a team of three poker professionals, and Olympic-Online Team Elite, a poker team of prominent people and other noteworthy poker enthusiasts. Players of both teams play online poker in Olympic-Online
Creating synergy One of our main competitive advantages is the opportunity to create synergy between online and land-based casinos and offer customers innovative loyalty programs together with additional campaigns and winning opportunities. During the first year of operations, we have regularly organized live poker tournaments with additional OlympicOnline prizes, online qualification tournaments for live events held in Olympic Casinos, entertainment events for online players and much more. In organizing remote gaming, the most important keyword is credibility. Thanks to our international recognition and the good image of Olympic Casino, this is where OEG clearly benefits from its strong competitive edge. The objective during the first year of operations of the online
and proudly wear its colours when competing in major live tournaments. Olympic-Online players achieved significant results in live poker tournaments in Europe already during the first year of operations.
casino was to establish a strong position on the home market, i.e. Estonia. The new focus is on other markets where Olympic Casino is a well-recognized and renowned brand in the casino entertainment business. Being the region’s largest casino and poker operators we have extensive opportunities for expansion and for developing synergy-based activities with the main focus on our current markets.

The region’s
poker pioneers
L For OEG, 2010 was a year of strong development in the field of poker, marked by the introduction of tournament poker in several new casinos, by the on-going organization of popular international poker tournaments and by being an equal partner in organizing some of the world’s top events.
ast year we founded a dozen new poker clubs and, by the end of the year, there were 23 larger or smaller poker clubs operating in six countries at the casinos of the OEG Group. This further strengthened our market leadership in the region’s poker industry. The regular schedule of Olympic Casino brought several new exciting innovations in the first year of close cooperation with our new, online poker room Olympic-Online.com. We started a live tournament series Olympic-Online.com Special and OOPS, short for Olympic-Online Poker Series. In addition, Estonia’s second-largest town Tartu began the tradition of a championship of cities and during the whole year we hosted the Estonian Team Poker Series that was held both in Olympic-Online poker room and in our land-based poker club. At the end of the year, Olympic Casino in Tallinn hosted the first get-together of Olympic-Online players. It was an entertaining poker party that was attended by more than 100 of the most active Olympic-Online players. In addition to these events, we continued our traditional international Olympic Casino poker festivals including the Olympic Summer Festival, Olympic Hold'em Series and Olympic Open Championship. In cooperation with Olympic-
22
Online.com and iPoker network, a new tournament series, Baltic Winter Festival with events held in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will be ready to kick off already at the start of 2011. INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE The poker rooms of Olympic Casino have been known and internationally recognised for years, hosting every year thousands of poker players from all around the world and have been named as one of Europe’s most popular poker destinations a number of times. We have proven ourselves to be a prominent and experienced tournament operator. Last year this helped us attract a record number of poker festivals including the world’s largest poker tournament series, PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT). The August event was held in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, for the first time. More than 400 players participated in the EPT Tallinn main event and, all in all, about 700 to 800 visitors were hosted. In addition, in 2010 the Olympic Casino poker team helped organize several other prominent festivals in Tallinn including the Amateur Poker Association & Tour, Betfair Poker Live, the PokerStars Baltic Festival, FinnishSwedish and Estonian-Finnish country challenges, etc. Olympic Casino has been pioneering and developing poker and poker culture in all its markets for years. Looking at the major popularity of our new Olympic Poker Clubs it is clear that we have been able to meet well the growing interest of players towards both smaller entertaining poker tournaments and major high-level poker festivals.
