Bike Check: Josh Berry's Revolt Advanced

Josh Berry, a former American road racing pro, is now splitting his time between attending college in Arizona and trying to win the most important gravel racing events within the world. We trapped him recently at the imaginary place 100, a gravel event in Patagonia, Arizona, where he was riding his new Revolt Advanced.

It’s the off-season for Berry, and he was in Patagonia, near the U.S./Mexico borders about 60 miles south of his range in Tucson, to ride within the grassroots event that’s organized by friends.

We talked to him about his new bike and his new passion for riding and racing “alternative events.”

“As a knowledgeable road racer, I found myself stuck on the road bike all the time and living somewhere with amazing mountains,” Berry said. “I just took my b ​ icycle rider o ​ n the singletrack and on the dirt roads but I used to be limited. Now we’re making bikes that I can do even more on, with more people, in several places.”

In 2018, Berry signed up for Dirty Kanza 200, one among the foremost well-known gravel races within the world, and he finished second. He was hooked. Now Berry is racing with the enormous Factory Off-Road Team, that specializes in North American events just like the DK200, Gravel Worlds in Nebraska, and Rebecca’s Private Idaho.
