Organizational Highlights Free Flow Salt In our ongoing efforts to increase the efficiency of our product manufacturing process, the free flow salt plant was improved resulting in the input/output ratio of the raw material (salt) improving from 62% to 68%.
400g Pack Waste reducing has been a priority for the company and it has constantly searched for ways to do so. In that respect, the production capacity of 400g packs was enhanced by the replacement of packing machines.
PVD Production Process With the move towards providing a salt product containing zero contaminants, the company started its PVD process and in order to establish the method right at inception, overseas consultative services were obtained to improve the productivity and quality of the PVD manufacturing process and their recommendations are currently being implemented.
Research Our focus on research and development across our entire product portfolio is well known. During the year-under-review, the research team worked on a still ongoing exercise to increase the speed of harvest and optimize the output efficiency of the process.
Product Quality We are committed to providing our consumers with a product that thrills them. Despite the SLSI standards being comparatively lower with respect to the percentage of allowable non-soluble impurities, we maintain further tough standards for the branded salt “Isi”.
Marketing Our greatest focus during the year was marketing and brand building. Towards this, the existing distribution network was expanded to unserved and underserved geographical areas of the northern and eastern areas of Sri Lanka while the efficiency of the logistics facility was improved through expandnig the fleet of delivery vehicles.
