The Y provides a supportive environment for families of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities where people can meet their health and well-being goals through exercise, nutrition, and healthy living programs designed to combat chronic disease.

Thanks to the donations of our generous community members, we are able to offer direct financial assistance to individuals, children, and families so they can participate in programs that enhance their health and well-being.

SERVING OUR MILITARY 26,025 military members and military families served Through the YMCA Military Welcome Center, located at Will Rogers International Airport, and programs at local YMCAs; the Y is helping military members and their families connect to their communities and providing a welcoming space when they arrive in Oklahoma.

SUPPORTING OKLAHOMA’S FAMILIES 766 Foster Families Served Through the YMCA Foster Family Benefit Program, the YMCA is focused on supporting the health and well-being of Oklahoma’s Foster Families. The program provides families a safe-space to spend time together and improve their overall physical and mental health through youth development and healthy living activities.

YMCA programs are designed with our core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility at the forefront. Through participation in YMCA out-ofschool time programs students have the chance to see those values in practice and live them out.


When school is out, kids need a safe place to be with friends, stay active, and learn together. As one of the state’s largest providers of out-of-school time care, the Y provides fun, engaging spaces for kids and peace of mind for hardworking parents and caregivers. YMCA out-of-school time programs focus on the whole child, offering academic enrichment, physical activity, and support for social-emotional learning. Financial assistance is provided to ensure no family is turned away for in ability to pay.

SPOTLIGHT ON PARTNERSHIPS Partners in Our Community Oklahoma Ys partner with organizations to help meet community needs and expand our impact beyond the walls of our facility. • The YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City partners with the Oklahoma City Housing Authority to identify and serve residents within their six family-focused communities. The Y Clubhouse Program provides two communities with no-cost out-of-school time enrichment programs. In 2021, the partnership served 200 kids at Y Clubhouse, 150 families through school supply events, and 400 kids through various Christmas toy drives and events. A third program site will open in summer 2022. • With support from the Sam Viersen Family Foundation the YMCA of Greater Tulsa is able to offer costfree membership to Okmulgee High School Students. This gift and partnership benefits 350+ active students, empowering them to live healtheir and happier lives.

Partners in Education Oklahoma YMCAs partner with 24 charter and public school districts to serve our state’s kids and families. During the summer of 2021, with funding support from the State Department of Education’s “Ready, Together, Oklahoma” Initiative, YMCAs partnered with school districts to help combat COVID related learning loss and prepare kids for success in the 2021-2022 school year. • The Lawton Family YMCA partnered with six Lawton elementary schools to host summer day camp programming at school sites. The Y provided afternoon summer camp enrichment programs following morning summer school activities. • The Noble County Family YMCA partnered with Perry Public Schools to provide aftercare for Summer School students. Students in Perry also had the opportunity to participate in the Y’s Power Scholars program and attend Safety Around Water classes and swim lessons. • The Cleveland County Family YMCA partnered with Noble and Little Axe Public Schools to provide summer day-camp programming at school site locations.

Partners in Feeding Kids One in five Oklahoma kids experience food insecurity and 15.6% of Oklahoma households are classified as food insecure. As a part of the USDA’s Child Nutrition Programs, YMCAS partner with food banks, public schools, and other community partners to host 43 Summer Food Service Programs sites afterschool meal program sites. EMPOWERING CHANGEMAKERS YMCA Youth and Government YMCA Youth and Government (YAG) is a national program that involves thousands of teens nationwide in state-organized, model government programs. The program helps teens increase their political awareness and understanding while learning the meaning of social action through experience.

OKLAHOMA’S YOUTH AND GOVERNMENT CHANGEMAKERS Students Aishwarya Swamidurai Aishwarya Swamidurai, a senior at Classen SAS in Oklahoma City, serves as the 20212022 Youth Governor for Oklahoma YAG. Through her involvement with the Y and the YAG program, Aishwarya helped lead the YMCA’s Strategic Youth Voice Task Force and represented Oklahoma at the Youth Governor’s Association event. She served as a Youth Voice with the US Department of Education and recently received the US Senate Youth Program Scholarship.

Ally Potts Ally Potts, a sophomore at Ardmore High School, helped to start a vibrant Youth and Government Club in Ardmore. She received the Outstanding House Leadership Award at the 2022 State Conference and will represent Oklahoma at the Youth and Government Conference on National Affairs.

Sindhya Atturu Sindyha Atturu, a junior at Deer Creek High School, serves as the State Media Director for the Youth and Government Program. Sindhya was one of two youth advocates chosen to represent Oklahoma at the YMCA’s National Advocacy Day conference. In addition to her roles with YAG, she helped to support the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City’s annual campaign by serving as a Youth Champion.

The Y is for all. We support people of all ages and backgrounds to be healthier in spirit, mind, and body and inspire them to reach their full potential.

Health, Well-Being, and Fitness for All

Swimming and Water Safety

Fitness and well-being activities at the Y go beyond just working out. Oklahoma YMCAs offer nearly 1,300 group exercise classes each week and host over 133 community outreach events each year.

The Y is a leader in promoting swimming and Safety Around Water. Oklahoma YMCAs engage more than 6,000 kids in swim lessons and Safety Around Water programs each year.

Sports and Recreation At the Y, we believe sports are for everyone. Annually, we serve 21,724 kids through our youth sports programs with the help of 6,054 volunteer coaches and more than 515 adults participate in YMCA recreational sports events.
