Hi my name is Maggie Congdon the purpose of this letter is to explain a bit about my portfolio like what you’re about to learn about me. You are about to see the progress I’ve made over the course of my senior year. At the beginning of this year I could not tell you a single thing about cameras other then I really like taking pictures and photography is something I love. Now I know so much and I am sure that my love for photography is real because if not, I wouldn’t have lasted the year. I have written for the school newspaper along as photographed for it. I have Built my senior yearbook,written articles taken pictures and so much more but better then me explaining is for you to see for yourself so here we go.

My goals I started out the year joining journalism to force myself to meet new people and take my photography skills to the next level, but boy was I in for a surprise. As the year went on I learned I had to help create the whole yearbook, this is not an easy task. Being my senior year I was very nervous because well this is it I’m helping create my very last yearbook and I need to live up to my classes expectations, along with my own. Needless to say that changed my goals and I then wanted nothing more then to create the best yearbook I could.

I think at the and of it all I succeeded with the help of my classmates and new friends so, that being said I accomplished my goals from the beginning of the year to.

Commitment (Role)

My set role in the yearbook was the senior section, I choose this role because I’m a senior and figured I would probably have the advantage in doing that section. I took care of the top of class the superlatives and how to incorporate everything that is important to a senior. This role wasn’t as easy as I expected turns out no matter what you do in the yearbook, you’re going have a hard time but in the end its all worth it. As for the newspaper I took care of page three student life what is going on, on campus which is a pretty good page to have in my personal opinion because it seems to me there is always something happening on.

Self- Analytical Evaluation

The beginning of this year I was completely clueless to anything that had to do with computers... especially InDesign, cobbing, editing, even writing a decent story. I’ve improved so much over the course of only a year and I’m very proud of myself I of course still have room for improvement, in some areas more then others but everyone has room for improvement so that leaves me no reason to stop in my tracks. I have learned to write great articles, take better pictures and how to build a yearbook! I’ve come to far to stop learning now. I’m very excited to use the skills I’ve learned in the future and to better myself as I go.

Pride And Hardships

I can really say over the course of the year I’ve had lots of hardships more so then pride but I’ve had my moments some hardships I’d have to say are the beginning of the year I came into this class with absolutely no knowledge of InDesign and this whole class is pretty much spent on the program.

It was very hard teaching myself how to do everything. I would say I take pride in how well I taught myself and of course my photography... and in my article writing while I did struggle with articles at the beginning I’ve come to be a very good writer.

I also take pride in my skills of cobbing.

Eclipse 2017 was definitely one to remember especially for the ones that never seen it in their lifetime. Many students were tempted to look up at the sun while knowing the sun was ten times stronger than normal. While some may say, they looked up to the sun without any glasses and did not photo by: Maggie Congdon Michael Hill (20) In Mrs.Talas 6th hour preparing to go out- affect their eye vision, side to look at the solar eclipse. which would have been ridiculous. Staff member Maggie Congdon attended Ms. Talas 6th period where she observed the students using solar glasses. Michael Hill (20) said, “It’s really cool seeing the sun without being blinded.” Maggie Congdon (18) says “I’m really happy I got to experience this.” After the August 21, 2017 eclipse, the next total eclipse for North America will come around on April 8, 2024. Therefore, we all still have another chance to look at it more clearly through solar eclipse glasses, without damaging our eyes. Now we just need to know where the best places in nearby are so people can make arrangements to go out and observe the beautiful sight.

Meet the Teacher

Senior Info

Science here. Fulleda is originally from Colombia, South America and raised in southern California.

Fulleda attended Colegio Jefferson in Cali, Colombia and graduated in 1988. She then attended the University of la Salle in Bogota, Colombia, where she graduated with a veterinary medicine degree.

Before becoming a teacher she worked on her family’s dairy farm.

I asked Ms. Fulleda why did you become a teacher? She stated, “Teaching is a ministry for me.” We then went on to discuss the hardest part about teaching today. She says, “The hardest part of teaching today is trying to meet the needs of ALL of my students and being a part of an educational system

that makes it even more difficult to meet those needs.” Fulleda’s favorite part about teaching is seeing her students succeed and being able to say “I can.“ She never dreamed of being an educator, but she says “God works is mysterious ways and led me to the education field. My classroom is my mission field and today I can say that it has become my dream.”

Students from Mr. Prescott’s Animal Science and Services classes visited IRSC campus to meet with the Pre-Vet advisor from University of Florida, Ms. Alex Avelino. She did an excellent job of informing the students about the requirements of becoming a vet. She also spoke with the students about how to couresty: Ms.Tabbert introduce yourself, answer Students learning more about their future profession. interview questions, and ask for a recommendation. Arianna Lorusso (19) who attended this event stated that it was “extremely helpful and it answered all questions I had about the program.” And her favorite part of it all was “learning what it takes to get into the vet program.” Thank you ,Ms. Avelino for your time

Have A Happy Turkey Day By: Maggie Congdon

Thanksgiving already, What? Yes ladies and gentlemen, it is already that point of the year this is our last week before Thanksgiving. This point in year is looked forward to by all. For example Jeremiah Stalans (20) says “I’m very excited for Thanksgiving break because I’m looking forward to spending time with my family, we don’t get to do a lot together.” This time of year is really a great time for families to come together and share what they’re grateful for. You cant help but to think about all the traditions, while they may vary for different religions I think we can all agree the feast for most menus photo by: Maggie Congdon isn’t complete without dishes such Jeremiah Stalans (20) is excited for thanksgiving as Cranberries, stuffing, vegetables, break gravy and potatoes are bookended with turkey and pumpkin pie. It is amazing to think this holiday feast dates back to November 1621 and is still celebrated to this day. Well ladies and gentlemen have an amazing week and an even more amazing thanksgiving break.

started out going to any and all cast calls and “Find something you are photo shoots to build a portfolio. I ended up passionate about and getting a contract with MCM, which is like pursue it. It will help you be my manager. I got signed with Posche in Miami. passionate and successful in Wilhelina is interested in signing me in New York. everyday life.”

Savanna Waldron It has been a great experience to travel the world.

I’ve been to Paris, New York, California and Miami. Hopefully I will go more places in the future. Balancing school and modeling is not very difficult. I maintain A’s and B’s because my agency knows I have school.

They schedule me mostly on breaks or for one week at a time.

he senior tradition continues and we “Feels like we are had yet another amazing year of wood starting the final hauling. We had a total of 29 teams chapter.”

Kelly Demedicis and over 9000 pallets. Our winning team was Morning Wood Hauling Company. This team consisting of Kassie Weldon, Jarrett Faulkner, Christopher Hickman, Cameron Maynard, Preston Arnold and Sean Osceola worked hard and brought in 2,500 pallets. Truly a bitter sweet moment for seniors as they come to the realization that this is the last year and its going by so fast.
