CAPTURING THE GOOD WORK

Jessica Larez
Spirit of the Workforce Award

Dear Flogistix Family,

2023 brought many changes and opportunities to Flogistix. One I am particularly proud of is our volunteer initiative FloGive. I cannot thank you enough for embracing this idea and running with it.

As you’ve seen in each issue of the newsletter, our team is doing great work in the local communities where we have operations. It is heartwarming to see the outpouring of support Flogistix employees have given. Kudos to Bernadette Granger, Director of Community and Public Affairs, for creating and launching this amazing program.

One employee who has stepped up to the challenge and embraced FloGive is Carlsbad team member Jessica Larez. Her team has been busy helping with our STEM project, handing out Halloween candy, and providing Christmas gifts to the less fortunate. She was recently recognized by Mayor Dale Janway with the “Spirit of the Workforce” award for her hard work and dedication. Congratulations, Jessica! We are grateful for your commitment to Flogistix and your local community.

As you may have heard, Flogistix was recently honored as a Top Workplace in Oklahoma. This program is sponsored by The Oklahoman, our local Oklahoma City newspaper, and recognizes top employers throughout the state based on employee feedback. While this award is confirmation that we are on the right track, this is no time to sit back on our laurels. We must continue to nurture and grow our company culture as we strive to be a Top Workplace each and every year.

This issue of the newsletter is packed full of information and celebrations of the great work being done by our team. I’d like to give special recognition to the amazing women in our company as we celebrate Women’s History Month in March. Since 1995, presidents have issued a series of annual proclamations designating March as Women’s History Month, but the designation’s origins can be tracked back to 1981 when Congress authorized the first Women’s History Week. Let’s celebrate the women who have made a positive impact on each of our lives through their strength and resiliency.

As always, be safe.

Flogistix was recently honored as a Top Workplace in Oklahoma. “

JESSICA LAREZ RECEIVES Spirit of the Workforce Award

For the second year in a row, a Flogistix employee was recognized at the Carlsbad Mayor’s Energy Summit in Carlsbad, New Mexico. On October 19, 2023, Jessica Larez, Purchasing Assistant-Carlsbad , received the “Spirit of the Workforce” award

Jessica has worked at Flogistix for two years as our Purchasing Assistant. In her role, Jessica juggles many tasks with her most critical task being inventory. When she joined our team, maintaining a proper inventory was a challenge. Through many hours of hard work, Jessica utilized her strong organizational skills, and was able to organize our Carlsbad warehouse and maintain a proper inventory. “Jessica has been a tremendous help to this area,” said Jaime Baylon, Field Service Area Manager-Permian Delaware. “This past inventory has been our best by far.” Besides her warehouse duties, Jessica helps with scheduling delivery of units, clears work orders, creates sales orders, helps customers, and even stocks parts in our warehouses on location in places like Jal, New Mexico and Mentone, Texas. Jessica and her team continue to keep our warehouse clean and well-organized and maintain an exact inventory while completing these other tasks. With thirty field mechanics on staff, that is no easy task!

In addition to her role as purchasing assistant, Jessica serves as the Carlsbad office volunteer coordinator for Flogistix’s newly minted volunteer program, FloGive. With the help of her colleague, JoAnna Allen, Jessica organized a school supply drive as part of FloGive. Employees donated backpacks, school supplies, and over $1,500 in personal funds toward this effort. Because of Jessica’s relentless drive, 144 fully stuffed backpacks were delivered to the Assistance League of Carlsbad with additional backpacks going to the churches of our employees in Hobbs and Lovington. “Jessica has been instrumental in the success of FloGive, especially in Carlsbad,” said Bernadette Granger, Director of Community and Public Affairs. “She has rallied our employees to volunteer and give back to the community. She is so dedicated that she already has volunteer events planned for 2024.”

Jessica puts her heart and soul into everything she does. Nowhere is that more evident than with her two sons, 14-year-old Ayden and 13-year-old Ashton. When asked what she does in her spare time, she lovingly jokes, “nothing! I’m a mom! My life revolves around my sons and their sports.”

Jessica Larez embodies the “Spirit of the Workforce.” Her unparalleled work ethic, strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and a heart for service are all qualities that earned Jessica Larez the Carlsbad Mayor’s Energy Summit “Spirit of the Oilfield Award.”

Congratulations, Jessica! Keep up the good work!

On December 7, members of the Flogistix management team participated for the second time in a reverse trade mission (RTM) hosted by the U.S. Trade and Development Office (USTDA) and the Bilateral Chamber. The event, held in Midland, Texas, included a delegation of officials from Mexico, Brazil, Ecuador, and Argentina.

For the second time, the Bilateral Chamber was selected to organize and lead the mission. Dubbed the Advanced Technologies for Methane Abatement RTM Series, the objective of the meeting is to familiarize the foreign delegates from public and private sectors with the latest U.S. technological services, solutions, and best practices for methane emission abatement in the oil and gas sector. The previous

FLOGISTIX PARTICIPATES IN REVERSE TRADE MISSION

delegation included officials from the Middle East and Northern Africa. The delegations visited Washington, D.C. prior to traveling to Texas, and met with federal regulatory officials and lawmakers.

While in Midland, members of the Flogistix team shared details about our company’s vapor recovery technology, our market footprint, and recent growth opportunities both here and abroad. Features of our vapor recovery units were outlined, and a sample of our software technology was presented. The how and why of AirMethane was also explained. Additionally, the delegation was treated to a visit to Flogistix’s field office in Midland where several vapor recovery units were on display. Having the opportunity to see an actual

unit resulted in continued dialog between the attendees and our Flogistix experts.

As the push to decarbonize the global oil and gas industry continues, countries are looking to the U.S. for best practices and abatement technologies to reduce the practice of venting and flaring. The foreign delegates were eager to learn what innovations are available to help them meet regulatory requirements.

The USTDA and Bilateral Chamber will be holding additional trade missions in 2024 and have requested Flogistix be a part of those events.

WHITE DEER VISITS ERM

On October 12, 2023, Flogistix’s private equity partner White Deer hosted several investors at our corporate headquarters and ERM where they learned more about vapor recovery and methane detection. Discussion included details surrounding new federal regulations affecting methane capture in the oil and gas industry, our innovative technology that eliminates the need to vent and flare, and our efforts to develop solutions to help operators manage methane such as our emissions calculator.

With the current focus on the updated methane regulations recently issued by the EPA, attendees learned how Flogistix can help our customers reduce their regulatory burden and avoid the new methane tax that was included in the Inflation Reduction Act. New state laws affecting methane emissions in states such as New Mexico and Colorado were also discussed.

Pipe Profiler Making a Difference

As mentioned in a previous newsletter, pressure vessels used in our equipment are highly configured and require very sophisticated cut profiles to accommodate many different features and meet strict code requirements. Due to this complexity, we have been outsourcing all our shell profiling to a 3rd party vendor resulting in increased costs, component lead time extensions, and inventory level increases. With added volume and manufacturing space, we could justify investing in this type of automation to enable vertical integration and insourcing of this activity.

Since commissioning at El Reno in August, the team has successfully produced all shell profiles within our portfolio and are rapidly scaling capacity to support demand at both manufacturing locations. ERM has also identified additional cut and profile opportunities related to piping subassemblies that have historically been processed through a bandsaw operation, which has a slow cycle time, rough cut quality, and lower precision. These initiatives have combined to yield significant improvements to cost, quality, and delivery for our operations and customers.

Virtual Flow Meter Explained

For well over a decade, Flogistix has been gathering as much information as possible on our units running in the field. Systems that send data from equipment are known as telemetry systems and our version of that is Flux. There’s a lot we can say about Flux, but this segment is to spotlight one of the things we are doing with the data that comes through Flux.  We call it the Virtual Flow Meter, or VFM.

In the world of gas compression, measuring the flow is a big deal. It’s this data that our customers need for their sustainability reporting. Our compressors are mostly used in vapor recovery, which keeps gas from venting and adds it into the “sales line” so the amount we capture isn’t usually measured. Typically, the additional measurement equipment needed to capture this data would be costly. Our Virtual Flow Meter changes that. The VFM constantly looks at everything the unit is doing via Flux and combines that data with details of the unit from our Unit Profiles. A cloudbased algorithm developed by Flogistix Engineering and our team of developers then calculates how much gas volume each machine is moving and how much horsepower it requires. This is an incredibly valuable insight that didn’t require any metering equipment on site, saving the customer money. It’s a win, win for everyone.

Introducing the Emissions Calculator

We’re excited to announce a groundbreaking addition to our innovative Flux platform – the Emissions Calculator! Developed by our internal team, this tool is set to transform the way we measure our impact on the environment.

The Emissions Calculator will allow users to baseline the environmental impact of their operations by contrasting CO2e emissions from traditional flaring against the utilization of our VRUs. This data-driven approach empowers our clients to make informed decisions that align with their sustainability goals.

The calculator relies on our VFM readings and tank vapor composition to determine the amount of abated CO2e emissions from flaring. The first iteration of the calculator will be rolled out in Q1 to the entire rental fleet but will only be accessible by Flogistix employees as we continue to refine the accuracy of the emissions calculations and functionality of the dashboard. As improvements are made, the calculator will be made available to our customers.

Flogistix’s customers are under ever increasing regulatory demands and public expectations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The emissions calculator will provide transparency to the greenhouse gas reduction data provided by our industry leading VRUs helping to foster a culture of environmental stewardship within the oil and gas industry.

MONTH” MATTERS:

‘Tis the season for tech cheer! Introducing “Maintenance Month,” a new month-long initiative. This December, we addressed “technical debt” in our systems and programs. Think of this as a tune-up for your car or Santa’s sleigh.

WHAT IS TECHNICAL DEBT?

A Look at Year-End Tech Cleanup PAMPA CHRISTMAS PARADE FLOAT RECYCLING ARTICLE

Imagine Santa speeding through the night skies with his time-honored sleigh. Suddenly the sleigh’s bells start jingling in a peculiar way and the reindeers’ hooves make clippety-clop sounds that are anything but festive. Oh, no! Ignoring these quirks can land Santa in some serious trouble. Well, technical debt in software development is a bit like that. Neglecting those pesky issues can pile up like snowballs in a blizzard, draining your wallet and delaying toy delivery. It is a sneaky debt that demands more of your time and money.

WHAT ARE WE DOING? WHY DECEMBER?

December can be quite tricky for our technology team due to the holidays and time off. It is challenging to coordinate big projects during December. As a result, we decided to embrace this time by giving some much-needed tender loving care to our existing technology.

Flogistix employees in Pampa, TX, are no strangers to participating in the Chamber of Commerce’s Winter Parade. The Pampa warehouse first entered the parade and contest in 2018, where the team built a Grinch-themed float and won $200 that went to the non-profit Tralee’s Crisis Center, which helps victims of domestic violence. This year, the Pampa panel shop decided to participate in the parade for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, but with a float made of mostly recycled materials

The panel shop has become a center for Flogistix’s recycling efforts in Pampa because it is the only facility with a compact baler in-shop. Panel Shop Manager Tracy Henderson says that because of this, both the Pampa warehouse and finish shop bring recyclable materials to them so “no recyclables get left behind.”

Altogether, the Pampa facilities recycle around 20 bales of cardboard a month using the compact baler. The Pampa panel shop also recycles wooden crates and pallets from shipping components. Instead of sending the wooden materials to a third-party recycling facility, Pampa panel shop employees have used the wood for various at-home projects, including two fences and patio furniture. “We’ve gotten crafty with our materials; there’s really never a dull moment here or lack of ideas when it comes to reusing things,” Henderson said.

This year, the shipping material that would usually be compacted and shipped away was reused for a different reason: to inspire employees, build community, and demonstrate the attention to safety Flogistix has. The nine-member panel shop team decided on a Wreckit-Ralph Candyland-themed float, using 1x2 pieces of wood in which low harmonic drives are shipped to build the gingerbread house frame from scratch. The cardboard from shipping materials was also used on top of the structure to finish it off and make Wreck-it-Ralphthemed cars for the children attending the parade.

Not only did the Pampa panel shop produce an impressive float, but they also exceeded safety standards for the parade by having seven Flogistix team members walk alongside the trailer to keep children and pets at a safe distance.

In November, the team spent a day in a room listing and prioritizing 53 outcomes for consideration during Maintenance Month. After several hours of discussion and analysis, the team committed to 11 outcomes. We are rolling up our sleeves and tidying up the code and ensuring our software can run as smooth as Santa’s sleigh.

While we may not have churned out shiny new things in December, rest assured that we were toiling away to make our existing systems and products more reliable, efficient, and scalable for the work to come. We consider it a gift to our future selves as we jingle into the new year.

Thank you, Pampa employees, for bringing the Christmas spirit to your surrounding community! WHY “MAINTENANCE

The Flogistix Pampa panel shop team was busy giving back to their community this holiday season by participating in the Pampa Chamber of Commerce Christmas in Candyland Parade.

While the Flogistix float did not win a prize this year, Henderson said the best part was “seeing the kids and community enjoy our efforts” and that the team had fun. Some children at the parade even gave a second home to the themed cars. The Pampa panel shop is already planning their float for next year’s parade, which is a “Christmas at the Movies” theme.

GET OUT THE VOTE

In a time when we are experiencing global unrest, your vote matters more than ever. Who we elect for president not only affects the United States of America but has global ramifications. Your vote matters! Your voice is your vote!

To encourage our employees to vote, Flogistix is offering a new incentive this election cycle. This year, when employees provide proof they voted, in addition to receiving a small “reward,” they will be entered into a drawing for a Grand Reward, an additional 8 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO). The drawing will take place the day after the election and two winners will be announced that same day. This year election day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024

As a reminder, Flogistix maintains a generous voting policy. As stated in our employee handbook, “Flogistix employees are entitled to up to two consecutive hours of paid voting leave on election days during the times when the polls are open, unless the employee is working at a worksite too far away from the polls to vote within two hours, in which case the employee will be granted sufficient time to travel to and from the polls to vote. The Company will not retaliate against employees because they took voting leave, or because they voted for or against a certain candidate or ballot measure. The Company will not require employees to reveal how they vote and will not retaliate again an employee for refusing to reveal how they voted.”

To review Flogistix voting policy, please review the employee handbook located online in Paycom. If you have any questions regarding our voting policy, please contact a member of Human Resources at hr@flogistix.com .

If you are not registered to vote or have questions about your voter registration, please contact visit your secretary of state’s website. If you have questions about our GOTV efforts, please contact Bernadette Granger at (405) 834-7066 or bgranger@flogistix. com for assistance.

Employee Profile

Ramiro Teran

We are a strong company because we are so family oriented.

When Ramiro Teran, Area Service Manager-San Juan Basin, enrolled in his high school’s automotive tech program, he never imagined that his decision would one day lead him to the oil and gas industry and to Flogistix.

A native of Farmington, New Mexico, Ramiro anticipated joining the automotive industry after high school where he began his training as a mechanic. When electric vehicles were first introduced to the market, Farmington Municipal Schools was chosen to build an electric car. Sponsored by local auto dealers, Ramiro had the opportunity to work on electric vehicles and to compete on an electrical race car team. He and his classmates worked on an electric car, served as pit crew, and raced the car. He remained on the team throughout high school and became an international electric race car champion in his junior year.

Upon graduating from high school, Ramiro briefly worked as a mechanic in the automotive industry before an opportunity to join Flogistix as a field mechanic became available in 2005. Flogistix was his first foray into the oil and gas industry, and in his 17 years with Flogistix, he has built a reputation as someone who possesses a strong work ethic, is willing to help anyone, is very dedicated, and is a pleasure to be around. According to Shawn Radcliff, Director of Field Service, “Ramiro is a person who is always helping others. He is always willing to give of his time and his talents whether it’s at work or in his personal life.” This willingness to help was recently witnessed when he spearheaded a coat drive for local children at Christmas as part of our FloGive initiative.

In his spare time, this hands-on father of four enjoys spending time with his children: Kobe, Arianna, Karlos, and Alexis above all else. David Martinez, Director of AirMethane, describes Ramiro as a “family man” who “cares about his kids, his parents, his brothers and sisters a lot.” He goes on to say that “family is everything to Ramiro. He is all about family.” His children are his pride and joy and greatest motivation. Together, they enjoy spending time together at their favorite amusement park in Farmington, Utah named the Lagoon. In addition to spending time with family, Ramiro enjoys 4-wheeling in his Jeep, fishing, traveling, and hanging out with friends. His idea of a dream vacation is any locale that involves “hanging out at the beach.”

When asked what he likes about working at Flogistix, it is no surprise that Ramiro stated that the culture at Flogistix is what he enjoys the most. “We are a strong company because we are so family oriented. The leadership is outstanding,” he exclaimed. He advises new hires that “this is a very caring company. It doesn’t matter who you work for. If one [person] doesn’t show you love, the next one will.”

We are happy to have you as part of the Flogistix family, Ramiro. Your positive attitude and dedication contribute to the caring culture at Flogistix. Keep up the good work!

Thank you to our employees who have participated in FloGive ! The donation of your time, services, and finances have made a tremendous difference in the communities in which we live and work. This holiday season shone brighter because of you! Please stay tuned for more exciting additions to FloGive in 2024

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Martin Luther King Jr. Day takes place as a national celebration marking the birthday of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., who was born on January 15, 1929, and changed the history of activism in the U.S. by promoting nonviolent protests, collaboration, and kindness to all. While President Ronald Reagan signed MLK Day into law in 1983, the holiday was observed by all 50 states for the first time in 2000.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day symbolizes hope, new beginnings, and acts of selfless service.  Most celebrations regarding the holiday find ways to give back through volunteerism.  Whether donating to charity, a local food pantry, or just giving back to those in need, MLK Day makes a way for people to celebrate with kindness.

Not too long after the observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the historical figure is recognized again with the beginning of Black History Month.

Black History Month is an annually recognized month-long celebration of the accomplishments and important role African Americans play in the history and future of the United States from February 1 to March 1.  Black History Month became a nationally recognized holiday in 1976 when President Gerald Ford extended the celebration to a month after it had only been a week-long observance since its establishment in 1926.

From civil rights leaders to presidents, Black History Month creates space to celebrate African Americans’ contributions to the world’s betterment.  The Association for the Study of African American Life and History initiated the first-ever Black History Week in February to include the birthdays of two historical figures who significantly contributed to the story of Black history: President Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass.  The holiday continues to be a time to celebrate, remember, and recognize historical figures who have committed to upholding equality and unity for all.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day symbolizes hope, new beginnings, and acts of selfless service.

Seeing Double at Flogistix Seeing Double at Flogistix

Did you know December 18 is National Twins Day ? This day celebrates all siblings who share a birthday. Twin births account for approximately three percent of live births in the United States, but that number is increasing. According to a recent CDC report, the birth rate for twins has increased a whopping 75 percent since 1980.

At Flogistix, our team includes two sets of twins, two halves of a set, and the father of twins.

Mark and Matt Robinson both work in the Flogistix IT Department. Mark is a senior software engineer, and he’s been with the company for nearly 2 years. Matt has been working as a data architect for Flogistix for three years. They were born five minutes apart and their mother knew early on that she was having twins. They are not aware of any other twins in their family. Both agree that having a “built-in best friend” is the best part of being a twin.

“We share many of the same interests like the Florida Gators, Tampa Bay Rays, sports, baking, and technology” Mark said. “Generally, we get along well.  We have a sister, but the relationship is different. Ultimately the best part of being a twin is that in one package you have your best friend, fiercest competitor, and most loyal teammate.”

“I had a built-in friend from day one,” Matt added. “Sure he tagged along when I was born, but I can’t have a closer friend in the world. This was a friend that went on every family vacation and was there day and night. We had classes together in school and have worked together at various companies now. Being a twin really is the best of both worlds: family and friendship.”

Identical twins Brandi Hedrick and Sandi Cruz also work for Flogistix. Brandi is the purchasing specialist in Midland while Sandi is the parts and service administrative assistant in Pampa. Although they did not start working for Flogistix at the same time, Brandi joined the team nearly two years ago and Sandi followed three months later, having identical twins at two different offices has created some funny situations.

They were born eight minutes apart and Brandi is the oldest. Their mother only found out two weeks prior to delivery that she was expecting twins. They are not the only twins in their family. Their great, great-grandmother was a twin.

When asked what they liked best about being a twin, Brandi said it was “having someone to talk to all the time.” Sandi believes that “having a connection with someone that you don’t have with anyone else” is the best part.

Vice President of Petroleum Engineering, Todd Moehlenbrock and his wife D’Ann have identical twin sons, Jake and John , who were born the day after Christmas two minutes apart. When they were newborns, they looked so much alike D’Ann painted John’s right big toe with red nail polish so they could tell them apart. They are mirror twins; Jake is right-handed, and John is left-handed. Todd and D’Ann knew early in the pregnancy that they were having twins as multiples run in her family. D’Ann’s sister has fraternal twin boys and there are at least eight sets of fraternal twins in her family history.

“I found it fascinating to watch them grow up together,” Todd said. “They had such a connection that I hadn’t

seen between two other people. They are best friends, watching out for each other. Whenever we got onto one who was acting up, the other would jump in and try to protect him. They amazed me how they worked together. Whenever they were working or building on something, they were in sync with each other and were able to get things done much faster and better than if it were just two random people.”

Vice President of Sustainability and Public Policy Kristin Hincke and her identical twin Karina were born five minutes apart. Their parents did not know until late in the pregnancy that there were two babies, but twins do run on their mother’s side of the family. Their mom is one of eleven children, and three of siblings have identical twins. Their great aunt also had identical twins.

“I think everyone should have a twin,” Kristin said. “My sister is my best friend and confidant. Having her by my side has given me a sense of confidence I don’t believe single children have. Even though my sister lives in Virginia, we are as close as ever.”

Danny Sabrsula , Flogistix Corporate Account Manager in Houston, and his identical twin Scott surprised everyone with their arrival six minutes apart. Doctors told his parents they were expecting boy/girl twins, so his brother started off life wrapped in a pink blanket! The best part of being a twin according to Danny is the ready-made playmate who shares similar interests. That closeness has continued into adulthood and since the Sabrsula twins live in the same town, they have ample opportunity to hang out together including at an annual guy’s trip with mutual friends.

“He and I are very alike, so growing up we always had someone to play with,” Danny said. We have a very similar (and wonderful) sense of humor, so if we’re together we know at least one person will like our jokes! When people ask what it’s like to be a twin, I can only reply “I don’t know what it’s like to not be a twin! I love it though.”

Studies show that identical twin births happen in four of every 1000 births. With those odds, it’s amazing we have so many twin connections at Flogistix.

BRAKE FOR

Safety

To continue promoting a culture that places the safety of our workers, communities, and environment above all else, monthly evaluations of submissions into our behavior-based Brake for Safety Program will be conducted and one Brake for Safety Event selected that highlights this value. Flogistix would like to announce our monthly Brake for Safety Champion for October 2023, William Trusty, Warehouse Lead - Celanese

Staff were using the overhead crane in the sandblast/saw shop at Celanese to move material from pallets to the sandblast machine’s roller conveyor. William identified the overhead crane’s hoist cable was not wound correctly on the drum and stopped work to inspect it further.  In addition to the mis-wound cable, there were kinks and fraying noted with the overhead crane’s steel lifting cable. William notified his immediate supervisor and the EHS department and took the crane out-of-service. Repairs were initiated by a third-party company.

I would like to express my appreciation to William for being a Brake for Safety Champion and for supporting the EHS program. His situational awareness during daily operations identified a high-risk hazard with the potential for multiple hazards.

I would also like to recognize Sheldon Heesch for submitting a Brake for Safety event in the month of October 2023.

Flogistix employees who are selected as a monthly “Brake for Safety Champion” are presented with a $100 gift card.

I would like to express my appreciation to William for being a Brake for Safety Champion and for supporting the EHS program.
