As a high school student, what made you choose Belmont?
I was attracted to Belmont through a recommendation from a family friend. Upon visiting campus, I could see how joyful the students were to be here, and I knew I wanted to be a part of that community.
What makes Belmont different from other universities you’ve visited?
The faculty and students are so welcoming and genuinely want you to succeed and are interested in your passions.
How would you describe your Belmont experience so far?
I have loved my experience here at Belmont. I have connected with a lot of different people through Belmont and have made meaningful lifelong friendships. In my classes, I have been able to succeed due to the caring and genuine nature of the professors.
Who is your favorite faculty member and why?
My favorite faculty member is Dr. Entsminger. She teaches my organic chemistry class, and it shows in the way she teaches that she truly loves her job and working with students.
What is campus life like at Belmont?
Campus life at Belmont is very much alive! There are always events or things going on around campus, so you will never be bored!
What resources outside of academics have you found most helpful?
Organizations like Towering Traditions and Bruin Recruiters have a very tight-knit community within Belmont, and I have made some genuine friends through those. Another resource outside of academics is Fraternity and Sorority Life. Through my time in Phi Kappa Tau, I have made meaningful friendships and bonds that I see lasting a lifetime. 1 2 3 4 5 6

As a high school student, what made you choose Belmont?
I wanted to ensure that the university I decided to attend would give me the most opportunities, strengthen who I was becoming as a person, and would be the right fit for me. I searched for a school that aligned with my personal values, yet also prompted me to broaden my perspectives and keep asking tough questions. Belmont was just the school I was looking for.
What makes Belmont different from other universities you’ve visited?
The most notable difference that makes Belmont stand out from any other university I visited is the amount of genuine support and compassion I received from all the people that welcomed my family and me to this campus and city with open arms.
How would you describe your Belmont experience so far?
My Belmont experience has been everything I’d ever hoped it would be and so much more. From meeting friends that I wouldn’t trade for the world to gaining a newfound sense of belonging, this place fills me with so much hope and happiness every day. The people here are incredibly supportive and make me feel valued not only as a student and creative artist, but also as a human being.
What is your favorite class and why?
It’s so hard to pick just one, but my favorite class so far that I’ve taken at Belmont would have to be “What’s Your Why?,” which is a class that’s actually overseen by the President and First Lady of Belmont! Each week, a guest speaker told our class about their journey, successes and setbacks, plus gave us advice about finding purpose and perspective while in college.
What is campus life like at Belmont?
There are so many fun events held by our incredible student organizations, in addition to unique, special performances presented by students in Curb College and the College of Music & Performing Arts every semester. Our campus is also so beautiful and simply going outside for a walk with my roommates reminds me how much I love it here. 1 2 3 4 5
REALIZE YOUR POTENTIAL
Explore the Belmont Difference
Choosing a college can be difficult. There are so many options, and they all seem to offer similar approaches. But, just like you, Belmont is designed to be different. What makes the Belmont experience unique comes down to three main themes: mission, people and culture.
MISSION: A HIGHER PURPOSE
Belmont develops skills, inspires character and helps students discover their why, all animated by belief in God’s bigger story at work in the world. Together, we are inspired to learn and grow in ways that serve each other and the greater good.
DEFINING BELMONT AS A CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY
PEOPLE: A WELCOMING, CREATIVE COMMUNITY
Our “special sauce” is our community, which is difficult to define — think authenticity, hospitality, creativity, collaboration, joy… dreamers and multipliers who swing for the fences.
It’s a common question... and the answer is both simple and complex. The Christian faith has long been central to Belmont’s identity, and our faculty and staff are committed to supporting the University’s Christian mission. It means we aim to love our neighbors, and to live lives marked by kindness, humility and justice.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR YOU?
It means we welcome all students from a place of hospitality and seek to understand and respect one another’s differences. Whether you are a person of the Christian faith, come from another religious tradition or ascribe to no religion at all, Belmont is an inclusive and safe campus where you can ask questions, explore your beliefs and, most importantly, connect and belong.
CULTURE: A HOPEINSPIRED APPROACH
Here, we believe transformation is possible, and we aim to make the world a better place through education, service and innovative initiatives. We seek to build on the best of the past to empower the future.
For students who want to strengthen their faith during their college years, the possibilities are endless at Belmont. Worship services, retreats, leadership opportunities, faith development organizations, discipleship and service programs, and local and international mission projects are just a few of the outlets Belmont offers.
