All theatre majors take classes in the BELL Core, the Theatre Common Core, and—for the BFA student—in the specific emphasis area.

*Every BFA major must choose an emphasis area. There are four emphasis areas offered and they include Performance, Directing, Production Design, and Theatre Education. These emphasis areas dictate the supportive and advanced coursework a student will take beyond the Theatre Common Core. The Theatre Education emphasis is a licensure degree for elementary and secondary teachers in theatre.

NON-MAJORS Only Theatre Majors and Minors are eligible to audition for mainstage productions. The Department of Theatre and Dance offers programming of student produced work that are open auditions for non-major students. Non-majors can also enroll in a variety of theatre and dance classes including TDR 2310/2320 Production Lab that incorporates preproduction and backstage work on department mainstage productions.
