Department of  Theatre and Dance DEG RE E H IG H LIG H T S This sheet shows the majors and minors available in the Department of Theatre and Dance and gives a snapshot of the courses students take in those majors and minors. Refer to the University Catalog and Degree Checklists for complete listings and full information.

All theatre majors take classes in the BELL Core, the Theatre Common Core, and—for the BFA student—in the specific emphasis area.

For the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree. The Bachelor of Arts (BA) adds several additional courses, see back page. You must choose classes in the following areas. There are several options for most subjects.

Eight semesters of Production Lab are required for the BA and BFA Emphasis in Performance, Directing, and Production Design. Six semesters are required for BFA Emphasis in Theatre Education.
