SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP THE JACK C. MASSEY COLLEGE OF BUSINESS
B E T H E C H A N G E Y O U W I S H TO S E E Social entrepreneurs are individuals who take on society’s most pressing problems, seeking innovative and sustainable solutions. The Social Entrepreneurship program prepares students to engage and transform the world through the formation or expansion of ventures that will create social change. As the first university or college in the United States to offer an undergraduate major in Social Entrepreneurship, our program is the pioneer in educating students to make a difference within the social enterprise sector. Nashville is an incredible city to call home, and there are numerous internship opportunities for our students in a variety of fields, especially within the nonprofit world. Our students intern with companies in the area, such as: The Nashville Food Project (increased access to healthy foods in homeless and underserved communities), Gigi’s Playhouse (educational and therapeutic programs to individuals with Down Syndrome, their families and the community), as well as Soles4Souls (a social enterprise that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world).
