A growth mindset is the belief that one’s skills and qualities can be developed over time.
Students who reported having more of a growth mindset scored higher in reading, mathematics and science in PISA 2018.
They also had better attitudes towards school and reported a lower fear of failure.
This report examines how students, teachers and schools can foster a growth mindset and analyses the relationships between growth mindset and academic and well-being outcomes across 78 countries and economies.
