Foundedin1977,OceanInstituteisanoceanscience,maritime historyandexperientialeducation501(c)(3)nonprofit.Our waterfrontcampusisadjacenttoaStateMarineProtectedAreaand encompassesexhibits,sciencelabsandalivecollectionof100 speciesnativetotheCaliforniaPacificCoast.
StokedonScienceisOceanInstitute’sTeenConferenceformiddle andhighschoolstudentsthatconnectsthemtothedifferentcareer pathsanindividualcantakeifthey’reinterestedinacareer involvingtheocean.Fromboardshaperstophysical oceanographers,scientistsandcareerwatermenwillshowcase theirfieldstoover200studentsoverthecourseofaweekend;all withthemessagethatyoucanturnanypassionintoacareer pathway. & Mission:Usingtheoceanasourclassroom,weinspirechildrentolearn.
