eading out of Cashel on the Dundrum Road, the mighty Rock of Cashel standing sentinel over the surrounding fertile countryside, the traveller passes Brit-

tas House Stud on the left and the old Cashel racecourse on the right, where today the defunct grandstand looks a forlorn concrete monolith, incongruous amid the cattle grazing around it. Round another bend, and there on the left is Camas Park Stud, home to the Hyde family. Its green pastures lead down to the banks of the river Suir, crossed by an ancient stone bridge. A couple of hundred yards further on, beyond the Drehideenglashanatooha Bridge at Ballinahinch, a right turn leads into a narrow lane, pretty in the
