EDITO

Dear Entrepreneurs,

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the eighth edition of the Social and Inclusive Business Camp, to express our deep admiration for you, and to offer you our sincere congratulations. Coming from all over Africa, you entrepreneurs concerned with societal impact act and innovate every day to create an economy in search of meaning, balancing social justice, environmental sustainability, and resilience.

An economy that places meaning at the heart of our activities:

The SIBC is an exceptional platform to highlight your inspiring journeys and visionary initiatives, as you have long demonstrated how innovation can be virtuous, caring for women, men, and territories. Tech for good now proudly carries the colors of Africa! Frugal solutions to essential needs are multiplying, technologies serving knowledge, care, or regeneration are changing habits and improving daily lives. All these initiatives you carry with courage are paving new paths for the African continent. In these times of global challenges, it is more urgent than ever to share your experiences and multiply these models that embody the future.

An economy that values the diversity of approaches

EDITORIAL CO-WRITTEN BY

This year, the SIBC deliberately focuses on alternative economic models, embedded in society and life, respectful of a world with limited and interconnected resources:

Models of the social and solidarity economy that prioritize human values and societal impact over the pursuit of profit.

Models of the collaborative economy based on the sharing or exchange of goods, services, time, or knowledge, with or without monetary exchange.

Models of the functional economy that prioritize use over sales.

Models of the regenerative economy that rely on a systemic approach and place the company within the environment it depends on, prioritizing it.

An economy in symbiosis with life

The 2024-25 edition of the SIBC is built around an economy inspired by life, giving ample space to cooperation and interdependencies within revitalized ecosystems. Driven by the need to further anchor the SIBC on the African continent and mobilize local ecosys-

With eight years of experience and learning, we are now taking a new step by regionalizing the SIBC. A first contextualized version will take over in 2025 in North Africa. We will need you, your experience, and your vision to continue this collective journey and launch new initiatives that are even more deeply rooted in local ecosystems, always serving the transitions!

The aim was to better adapt the training content to the African context and mobilize experts based in Africa. As a result, the entire educational journey was revised to specifically address a target audience of women entrepreneurs with impact in Africa.

Additionally, the bootcamp is now being organized in Africa. Historically held in France, the bootcamp is being hosted for the first time in Ivory Coast to connect entrepreneurs regionally and pan-African-wide, and to strengthen the place of the Social and Inclusive Business Camp within African entrepreneurial ecosystems.

A

economy that creates connections and sustainable impact.

The SIBC's mission is to maximize your impact and ensure the sustainability of your initiatives. Since 2017, this program has supported African women entrepreneurs each year across five key themes: leadership, scaling up, team structuring, impact measurement, and preparation for fundraising beyond training and funding opportunities, the SIBC places at the heart of its approach the creation of a vibrant and engaged community

through the sharing of experiences, connecting with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and integrating into a network of over 300 women entrepreneurs.

A

constantly evolving approach

With eight years of experience and learning, we are now taking a new step by regionalizing the SIBC. A first contextualized version will take over in 2025 in North Africa. We will need you, your experience, and your vision to continue this collective journey and launch new initiatives that are even more deeply rooted in local ecosystems, always serving the transitions!

As you have understood, supporting entrepreneurship today means agreeing to slow down, embracing a different rhythm, that of nature. It means accepting long-term finance, where value is embedded over time and wealth is shared. It is about questioning and nurturing the meaning of the word "value." It is about never losing sight of direction and impact. It is about returning to the original definition of the economy, the one that speaks of managing the home, care, and connections.

To conclude, allow us once again to express our deep admiration for your projects that are transforming our continent and to thank you for your commitment, which paves the way for many other African women entrepreneurs. The path you are creating today will light the way for Africa tomorrow.

With all our consideration and support

ZOOM ON THE JURIES

Motivated by the need to further anchor the SIBC on the African continent and mobilize local ecosystems, the AFD Group Campus organized 5 in-person juries in Africa in September 2024. Each application was evaluated twice by two juries from different regions than the original application. In total, around 200 evaluators were mobilized to participate in the selection of the 2024 cohort, but also to raise awareness about the program and create new connections with their ecosystems.

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR PEACE OF MIND

In accordance with Article 16 of the AFD Ethical Charter, the SIBC team is committed to expressing respect for individuals, in all their diversity and differences, within their institutional and socio-cultural contexts. This respect also involves considering the historical and cultural heritage of each person, and embracing tolerance towards everyone's practices.

The pedagogical team of the SIBC believes that every learner has the right to learn in an environment free from mistreatment or neglect, regardless of their gender, sexuality, race, age, health, marital status, physical and mental ability, serological status, origin, religion, social class, or body image. The SIBC consortium reserves the right to exclude any person who demonstrates problematic or oppressive behavior, at any stage of the training, without refunding any training fees.

The SIBC pedagogical team is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and positive environment, fostering a culture of openness and compassionate listening, where learners feel empowered to share their concerns and frustrations.

If you experience any violence or witness violence, you can contact a member of the teaching team or directly reach out to Auriane SANCHEZ, the violence prevention officer, who will ensure a compassionate and strictly confidential listening environment.
