MOXY NOOGA

Moxy Hotels prides itself on being different. Moxy is renowned for its inviting atmosphere and cutting-edge design. To start, Moxy guests check-in at the bar instead of a standard hotel counter. The main floor features an open concept layout with vibrant colors and a communal area, encouraging guests to spend more time in the lobby, and less time in their individual rooms.

The centerpiece of the lobby is a lively bar that serves craft cocktails, local beers, and delectable bites. During the day, the bar area functions as a dynamic co-working space, providing a productive environment for guests who need to work or collaborate. In the evening, the common space as “a living room with a bartender,” patrons enjoy eating, drinking, socializing, and posting on social media.

When designing Moxy Chattanooga in Tennessee, management wanted to create a lobby that gives millennials the fun, engaging experience for which the brand is well-known. They wanted to create a unique memory for travelers that can only be had at the Moxy.

Located next to railroad tracks and featuring a yellow railcar converted into an outdoor bar, Moxy Chattanooga designed the entire hotel with a modern spin on its railroad-rich history. To do so, they needed a standout design element that would effectively tie in the old with the new and give travelers even more reason to hang out in the lobby.

Moxy purchased a 6 Row and 24 Column Oat Foundry Split Flap. The sign creates an element of anticipation as the flaps turn, like those felt by 20th-century station train travelers. It captivates the new generation of guests and makes for the perfect “Instagrammable” moment. The new Split Flap Display showcases greetings to groups, info about local events, and any other information. 40 "
