Welcome to Analog!

At Oat Foundry, our “why” revolves around three key driving principles: to build stuff that’s never been made before, stuff that’s helpful, and stuff that makes people say “Damn. That’s cool.” These guiding principles form the foundation of our approach and drive our dedication to crafting distinctive, purposeful, and memorable analog experiences.

As we continue to innovate and evolve, we’re excited to share how we’ve taken our classic Split Flap displays and transformed them into even more versatile and customizable solutions. As captured on our cover, Oat Foundry has created an incredible amount of tailored designs: Pantone-matched sheet metal, custom printed fonts, beautiful brand logos and emojis – and we are just getting started. Split Flaps and Picture Flaps adapt to any environment, from bustling airports to cozy coffee shops to landmark-style centerpieces – we have turned all of those visions into reality.

In our quest to stay true to our “why,” we’re bursting with ideas for not only groundbreaking products that will reshape the way we interact with the world around us, but also myriad ways to make our current products even better. We are exploring new frontiers in analog technology and blending them with modern aesthetics to create visually stunning and functional designs that will leave you and your customers in awe.

Our commitment to our “why” goes beyond our products. We have taken steps to reduce our environmental footprint by incorporating eco-friendly materials and processes into both our product designs and our entire supply chain. For example, our beautiful Picture Flaps use MAPAL Plastics – a 100% fully recyclable polypropylene. This material is easier to recycle than many other plastics, using less energy and generating less greenhouse gases during both its production and recycling processes.

Flaps are the core component of our Split Flaps. Each alphanumeric character is split across two flaps. Our flaps are polypropylene. The black material is screen-printed with white lettering for our classic Oat Foundry flaps.

carousel (n)

Our team places each of the 50 flaps, in order, into the carousel wheels. Once in the Split Flap, the carousel rotates through the flap set to land on the letter, number, symbol, or color to display.
