1. King Georse VI stamps. - ' A provisional 1d. stamp was issued on, the 11th Septemhf'r, 1953 by overprinting the current td. stamp "1d." The layout anf type ~cre siffiilar to the 3d. provisional stamp issued in December, 1952. Sheets of id. stamps printed from plate 101 and 133 were used for the 1d. provisional. 2. 1 d. Provisional stam . - Owing to the depletion of stocks of the current 1 d. King George VI stamp, it was necessary to re-introduce the 1td. provisional stamp of July, 1950. The reprint was similar to the original. Approximately equal quantities of this printing had the watermark upright or inverted. 3.. Offic.1alstamps. -The King George VI 4d. stamp printed from plate 90 in the new she/le and overprinted "Official" was issued in Apr.11, 1953. 4. Royal Vis1 tstBmps. -This series was placed on sale on the 9th December, 1953:, and not on th,e14th December 8S was the previous intention. The plate numbers were - 3d., 45983 and 45984; 4d. 45985. These stamps were printed by the ordinary recess or line-engraved 'process. (Note.The printers have explained that the new process referred ·to in ..theprevious Bulletin is used only on long printings). 5. Queen Elizabeth IT stamps. - The new permanent issue of stamps both ordinary and official portraying Queen Elizabeth 11 will be placed on sale at all post o.f'f'ices on the 1st March, 1954. (Note. - The present KingG~orge VI series and the overprinted official series will not be withdrawn but will remain on sale meantime). Special souvenir covers for, the new Queen issue will not be issued by the Post Office but; in respe'ct of orders received from rnrseas clients, the stamps Division, General Post Office, Wellington, will affix stamps to plain envelopes and have them cancelled on the date of issue. The charge for this service will be 1td. per cover in addition to the cost of the stamps required. In oases where the client supplies his own addressed envelopes, 'the servicing fee will be reduced to id. per cover. 6. Postage stamp Booklets. - Booklets containing the new Queen Elizabeth I! .stamps are ,betngprinted, and w111 be placed on s ale when sufficient suppll'es' a.rerece1ved'fromEngland. The booklets will contain twelve id. stamps and twelve 3d. stampsandw1ll sell for 4/each. . 7. Postal Stationery. - A card similar to the post-card b~tb1ue in colour and impressed with a one penny King George VI stamp in purple and overprinted "1td." in black was issued ori 8th September, 1953. New postal stationery impressed or embossed with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth 11 will be placed on sale later.
