ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

This year's conference, "Setting the Workforce Agenda for 2025," will take place over two daysDecember 3 and December 4, 2024—as part of the #WkDevWeek in NYC. The conference will be held at the Museum of Jewish Heritage (12/3) and Civic Hall (12/4). It's a crucial step in setting the agenda in New York for '25, and we invite you to participate in this important conversation through sponsorship.

Each year, NYCETC hosts the largest conference in New York City dedicated to increasing access to quality jobs, improving diversity, equity, and inclusivity in growing industries, and strengthening the linkage between workforce development and economic development.

Last year's conference, Creating Quality Jobs through Partnership & Policy, was cosponsored by City & State and Civic Hall. Hosted at Civic Hall @ Union Square, the program drew in over 60 panelists and 300 attendees, including Deputy Mayor Maria Torres-Springer, Chancellor David Banks, Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez and City Council Majority Leader Amanda Farías. You can view select recordings from that day's programming on our YouTube channel.

NEW YORK CITY EMPLOYMENT & TRAINING COALITION

ABOUT US

As the largest city-based workforce development association in the country, NYCETC represents 220 organizations operating at nearly 400 locations across the City that provide job training/ placement, career development, and retention support.

The primary recipients of services provided by these organizations are women, young adults (18-24 years of age), public housing residents, justice-impacted individuals, and immigrants.

NYCETC members include sector-focused training programs, multi-service/multi-generational community-based organizations, and workforce development providers that operate locally and nationally.

For more than 25 years, NYCETC has increased access to good jobs and living wages, especially for BIPOC workers and communities, and connected high quality job training providers to businesses focused on developing and maintaining a highly skilled workforce.

RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

—NYCETC hosted the 2023 Annual Conference, “Creating Quality Jobs through Partnership and Policy” and legislative breakfast.

—NYCETC’s primary communication tool is the NYC Workforce Weekly newsletter that reaches an audience of more than 6,000 subscribers each week.

—Launched a new employer network on the west side of Manhattan (West Side Work Coalition).

—NYCETC has engaged in regular briefings with local and state officials and attended the National Skills Coalition Summit in Washington, D.C. to meet with federal legislators.

—NYCETC hosted a briefing on the cannabis industry for the Black, Latino, Asian Caucus of the City Council.

—Collaborated with Google NYC Tech Opportunity Fund to convene Tech Diversity Advisory and delivered Tech Bridge Grant grants.
