We raise funds for our staff, volunteers and communities, through various projects, fundraisers and seasonal activities.
Everything we do is over and above the amount that NHS budgets can achieve, so thank you for being a supporter of the North West Ambulance Charity,

Welcome to the North West Ambulance Charity impact report for 2025
It is with immense pride that I present this years impact report, showcasing the remarkable difference your generosity has made across the North West. Every donation, partnership and act of kindness helps us go beyond what NHS funding alone can provide. During 2024/25 our charity has grown in size and our impact has been greater than the year before and that is thanks to our committed and loyal donors, fundraisers and grants funders.
This year, we have funded innovative wellbeing initiatives for our crews, provided life-saving equipment for communities and supported various projects that will help patients in their most critical moments.
Behind every statistic and every story in this report are real lives, and what matters most is saving those lives and making sure families aren’t without loved ones. That is the true measure of our impact.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to ensuring that every person across the North West receives the best possible care when they need it most.
Thank you for your contribution to helping us make a difference.
Jemma Kinch, Head of Charity

Thanks to the generous donations and support we receive, we are proud to say that we have been able to spend over £1,500,000 on charitable projects in the last three years.
In the last financial year alone, £593,000 was spent on charitable projects and for every £1 spent by the NWAS Charity, 74p went directly to charitable support for our staff, volunteers, patients and communities.
£438,000 on lifesaving resources in the community:
Over the last three years, we have provided over 400 Community Public Access Defibrillators (CPADs) in partnership with local community groups. We have funded community engagement and training, to improve awareness of basic lifesaving skills and the provision of public access defibrillators.

£337,000 on projects to support staff and volunteers:
Providing welfare support to emergency crews waiting to handover patients at hospital emergency departments at busy times. Initiatives to support NWAS staff and volunteers, with a focus on improving their mental health by facilitating wellbeing festivals and roadshows across all NWAS sites.
Enhancements to ambulance sites to provide better indoor and outdoor areas for colleagues to use following traumatic incidents or for them to relax during scheduled breaks

This year we have had lots of amazing supporters and fundraising projects, which have all helped m k l diff t charity and the community.

The LGBTQ+ community and the ‘BeYou’ initiative in Blackpool raised nearly £4,000 to install defibrillators around the Rainbow Quarter. The project has been driven by local supporter Tim Allan.
The area is a hotspot for out-ofhospital cardiac arrests and has previously lacked access to lifesaving equipment.
