First term, first impressions My name is Ademi and I am from grade 6A. I’m going to tell you about my first term experience here in Nurorda International School (NIS). When I first walked into NIS, I had a sudden feeling of butterflies in my stomach. I didn’t really think I would fit in after all the books I have read about middle schoolers. I felt really nervous and didn’t know what the future held for me. I got really used to all my friends back in Dubai and all the teachers too. So here I was very uncomfortable. It was a whole new experience for me and I couldn’t count how many times I said that I was really REALLY nervous! I was so nervous that I

wanted to go back home! Whilst going to class I saw how much my old school was different to the new one. I came to class and realized how few students there were! Everything was so different, but so similar at the same time. To make a long story short, on the way I made lots of new friends and teachers as well! What I have learned is that if you are new don’t be afraid, your future will unfold itself, even if it’s good or bad, do not worry. I have enjoyed learning at this school and I hope it will stay the same way. In other words, so far so good! Ademi Mukhametkaliyeva Grade 6A
