During the 112th Congress, NAHB was instrumental in the introduction of bipartisan legislation in the House and Senate to increase credit for new housing production. NAHB's intense lobbying efforts on behalf of this legislation prompted the bills' co-sponsors to focus on access to construction credit during multiple congressional hearings on small business and banking issues last year. NAHB will seek to build on that foundation in the 113th Congress. NAHB has identified several non-traditional lenders offering financing to builders, and listed these companies on a members-only web page that provides links to their sites.
