Gypsy Week Expanded area of expertise u by Andy Bryenton

Pay attention!

When people talk about Area 51 in the west Kaipara, they aren’t discussing alien conspiracy theories. The high technology deployed by the technical staff at our local Area 51 is nothing to do with UFO’s, and everything to do with four-wheel drives. Now a new expansion to the business delivers even more, for vehicles on and off the tarmac. Area 51 boss, Sam Talijancich, has already made a move from his original out-of-town workshop to new premises, and now he’s jumped up another gear, taking on a brand-new building and forming a team to offer servicing, repairs, parts and safety checks for cars, vans and utes. Two new hoists and a whole lot of automotive tools have been brought in to turn what was once a plumber’s workshop into an automotive hive of activity. This is good news for a town like Dargaville with a growing population, which has put a strain on the ability of many tradespeople to accommodate an influx of work. A new, skilled team of technicians and mechanics in town is just what the automotive doctor ordered, and what’s best is the fact that this same crew are also masters of auto electrical work. Combine that with a thorough knowledge of suspension, driveline, exhausts and engines, and you have a one-stop shop for servicing and upgrades. Sam says there’s no job too

big or small, from oil filter changes to engine swaps. There’s more, too — as one would expect from an off-road enthusiast, there’s a whole lot of terrain-busting technology at Area 51, which can upgrade your 4x4 into a farming or recreational monster machine. Winches, lift kits, recovery gear, bull bars — decades of experience means

• Silage & hay making • Fert Spreading • Spraying • Mulching • Raceway/Driveways • Water Systems • Rotary Hoeing/Seed Box • Chickory/Turnip Crops • Fencing Yards
