Champions for Children Recognition Breakfast The Community Child Care Council of Sonoma County (4Cs) honored ten community leaders in the annual Champions for Children Recognition Breakfast at the Vintners Inn in Santa Rosa on November 7th. Joel Gordon from Santa Rosa Junior College, Evelyn Cheatham from Worth Our Weight, Tom Tessa Oliver and Gaffey from Petaluma’s Phoenix Theater, Carol Evelyn Cheatham. Caldwell-Ewart from First 5, Carol Waxman from Petaluma City Schools, Dave Cox from Youth Sports Network 365, Bob Florez from Sunny Hills Services, Collette Michaud from the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County, the Junior League of Napa-Sonoma, and Maria Lopez were honored for advocating and working on behalf of children in Sonoma, Napa, and Marin Counties. The 4Cs supports thousands of low-income children who need quality preschool and child care so their parents can work or attain vocational education. For more information, visit sonoma4cs.org.

The Fabulous Women Festival of Trees in December was a display of beautiful Christmas trees decorated by local charities and businesses and put up for auction. Proceeds went to Petaluma Ecumenical Properties, Hope Counseling, and The Rwanda School Project. Families from all over Sonoma County came out to enjoy the enchanted display of lights.
