Minima have specialised in silent film accompaniment since 2006. The instrumentation of drums, bass, guitar, cello, double bass, synthesiser and dulcimer immerse the audience in a nightmare world.

As part of a collaboration between Cinema City and Norwich Film Festival, we are pleased to be screening The Draughtsman’s Contract (1982) on 35mm film - the first time a Norwich cinema has hosted any non-digital screening in close to a decade!
Peter Greenaway became a director of international status with this witty, stylised, erotic, country house murder mystery. Extravagant costumes, a twisting plot, elegantly barbed dialogue, and a mesmerising score by Michael Nyman make the film a treat for ear, eye and mind.

All We Imagine As Light
Dir. Payal Kapadia, 2024, 118 mins
20th November, 18:30-20:30, Cinema City screen 3
Prabha, Anu, and Parvaty are employees at a hospital in Mumbai. They grapple daily with the opportunities and hardships of existence in the city. Balancing an immersive verité style with a touch of the surreal, Payal Kapadia’s Cannes Grand Prix-winning drama captures the many shades of working-class life in Mumbai.
