LIFEGUARDING INSTRUCTOR (LGI)
Date: TBD, Cost $185 Age: 17 years +; Course length: 20 hours Cost: $300, textbook is additional $35 or can be downloaded at www. redcross.org This American Red Cross certification will give you the ability to teach lifeguarding and certify lifeguards as well as teaching CPR/AED and first aid as stand alone classes. A great resource for pool managers, operators, and aquatic directors.
WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR (WSI)
Age: 16 years +, Course: 36 hours Blended Learning Cost: $300 for class, $65 for books, or can be downloaded for free. Date: TBD If you like the water and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with all ages, this is the certification for you. American Red Cross WSI’s are in large demand all over the country. Another rewarding opportunity in the aquatics industry.
LIFEGUARD REVIEW COURSE
Mar 18-19, 10a-4p, Cost $100 Looking forward to another season as a Lifeguard but your certification is set to expire? New American Red Cross requirements for re-certification are completion of a 12-hour review course prior to your current certification’s expiration. Participants will be refreshed in their lifesaving, CPR/ AED, and first aid skills, and provided instruction in the most up-to-date skills and techniques.
BLENDED LEARNING LIFEGUARD COURSE Cost: $150 + $35 Red Cross Fee Session 1: Apr 3-5, M-W, 7a-1p Session 2: Apr 28, 4-9p & Apr 29-30, 9a-4p
American Red Cross Lifeguarding is your ticket to fantastic, rewarding work at almost any swimming facility in the country. Upon successful completion, you will be certified in lifeguarding, first aid, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, and oxygen administration. This course will be a blended learning course with half the course online and the other half in the classroom. The online portion is to be completed before your first day of class. Online: Cost is $30 *Red Cross registration fee not included This is a blended learning course that includes an online portion, then after completion requires a skills session with a certified American Red Cross instructor. Tues./Thurs. 2:30p year-round in the indoor Natatorium. A walking based, in-water resistance class for those looking for less cardio in their workout. A great class for beginners, advanced, and athletes, resistance training is fantastic for working on balance and flexibility. Water shoes required.
WATER AEROBICS
MWF, 5:30a, 7:30a, 6:15p Saturday, 10:30a Water shoes recommended. Jump into fitness with our water aerobics classes! No experience is necessary and there are varying intensity classes for all fitness levels. Our experienced and certified instructors will guide you through exercises until you feel like a pro.

WORLD’S LARGEST SWIMMING LESSON Thursday, June 22, 10a
The nation’s top water safety and training organizations are joining forces to present The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL) to build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning. On June 24th, waterparks, pools and other aquatic facilities around the globe will host local WLSL lessons simultaneously in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record. The Asotin County Family Aquatic Center is one of the host facilities. The event will be at 10 am for half an hour. Kids of all ages are welcome. Children under 3 must have a parent in the water with them. Admission is free.

Dec. 21, 23, 26, 28, 30; Jan. 2; Feb 20; 1:30p-3:30p Children ages 4-17 are $1. Adults, regular price. Did school get out early and leave you with nothing to do? Come swim with us and you won’t be bored! Children 6 and under must be accompanied in the water and under 10 must be accompanied in the building by someone at least 15 years of age.
REINDEER SPLASH Dec 16-18 We’ll have kids from all over the region here to compete; including our valley’s LC Neptunes. The indoor pool complex will close at 1:30pm on Friday, Dec 16 and will remain closed until Monday morning, Dec 19. Spectators are free, so come down and watch the kids race!

HELLER BAR HAUL
March 1-31 Cost $15, with a membership; $20 w/o membership Swim on your own or on a team of up to 4 people. Register under a team name and count your miles together! Think you’ve got this swimming thing down? Can’t be beat in the pool? See if you’ve got what it takes to swim to Heller Bar in just a month. A fun program for all swimmers. Try to swim to Heller Bar by counting laps that you swim in the Cove Natatorium. Swim 22 miles before the program ends and receive an official T-shirt. Chart your progress on a map of the river posted in the pool area. 1 mile = 72 pool lengths (36 laps). Everyone who makes it to the end of the swim by March 31st will be entered in a drawing for a 3-month membership. The Maximum Haul. Participants who want to take the challenge can try to swim the entire distance in the first 5 days. So those who finish by March 5 will be entered in a drawing for a 5-month membership and get a maxed out Heller Bar Haul shirt. If they don’t make- it they can still be in the regular drawing.
