SUMMER 2017 EVENTS WORLD’S LARGEST SWIM LESSON Friday, June 22, 10:30a *New time this year!
The nation’s top water safety and training organizations are joining forces to present The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL) to build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning. The Asotin County Family Aquatic Center is one of the host facilities. The event will be at 10:30 am for half an hour. Kids of all ages are welcome. Children under 3 must have a parent in the water with them. Admission is free. Pre-register by calling the Aquatic Center at 509-758-0110. Participants are asked to arrive early on the day of the event to sign in prior to the swimming lesson.
LEWIS-CLARK SUMMER GAMES Friday, June 23; 9a-12p
Join us for a social, recreational and FUN experience! Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded for men and women in 11 age-group divisions. The Lewis-Clark Summer Games are part of a national network of senior games and masters’ competitions that encourage and support robust health and fitness for men and women 40 years old...or better! SUMMER 2017 EVENTS 10TH ANNUAL DOG DAYS SWIM Sunday, August 27; 12-2p Cost: Dogs: $4; People: Free
The day after closing day, the outdoor waterpark really goes to the dogs! It’s a great opportunity for the four legged members of your family to cool off and hang out with friends. This event has a swim suit contest and a fetch contest. There will be a dog wash, nail clipping, and other great things going on. Please make sure your dog is well socialized to other dogs, children, and crowds before this event. Also, no dogs in heat will be allowed. This is a scoop-your-own event and bags will be provided.

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR (WSI)
A great beginner course for kids who might be interested in becoming a lifeguard. Participants will be introduced to all the skills necessary to become a lifeguard, from water skills, to CPR, to professionalism and responsibility. The course culminates with the chance to shadow real lifeguards on duty in the waterpark!
If you like the water and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with all ages, this is the certification for you. American Red Cross WSI’s are in large demand all over the country. Another rewarding opportunity in the aquatics industry.

BLENDED LEARNING LIFEGUARD COURSE Cost: $150 + $35 Red Cross Fee July 10-12 M-W, 7a-1p
American Red Cross Lifeguarding is your ticket to fantastic, rewarding work at almost any swimming facility in the country. Upon successful completion, you will be certified in lifeguarding, first aid, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, and oxygen administration. This course will be a blended learning course with half the course online and the other half in the classroom. The online portion is to be completed before your first day of class. COMMUNITY CPR/AED
ONLINE: Cost is $30 *Red Cross registration fee not included This is a blended learning course that includes an online portion, then after completion requires a skills session with a certified American Red Cross instructor. Must make an appointment for the skills session. Upon receipt of payment, instructions will be emailed to you during regular business hours. Once the online part is completed, please call 509.758.0110 or email jessicaw@theaquaticcenter.org to schedule an appointment to complete the classroom skills. Test sessions will be scheduled to accommodate more than one student, 1-on-1 testing available for $15 extra. Course Cost includes CPR face mask. SWIM LESSONS LITTLE MATEY’S SWIM LESSONS
Age: 6 months to 4 yrs; Cost: $45/session or $40 per child/session if 2 or more children Little Matey’s classes are designed to teach children and parents the basics of water comfort and safety, with parents in the water in the beginning levels. As the children progress on their own, they will learn the basics of body position, floating, and water movement, including beginning stroke work on their front, back and side.
SHIP’S CREW SWIM LESSONS
Age: 5 yrs +; Cost: $45/session or $40 per child/session if 2 or more children Ship’s Crew classes allow students to progress through 6 levels of swimming and water safety skills. Skills include floating, water movement, multiple strokes on front, back and side, treading, diving, and general and personal water safety.

Need a little extra help with swimming skills? Looking for some one on one instruction? We also offer private lessons for both youth and adults. $18.00 per lesson, or $30 per lesson for 2 students.
