Volunteers

Volunteers contribute thousands of hours each year to North Van Arts’ programmes.

Roles include: • gallery attendants at CityScape Community ArtSpace • installing exhibitions • assistance with reception openings and photography • organizing artwork for the Anonymous Art Show • event support • engagement & art activities at community events • supporting administrative tasks • helping with social media postings • promotional distribution

Fortunately, with the return of in-person programming and events we saw the return of volunteers! Twenty high school students from our community acquired unique work experience (up to 90 hours each) towards their graduation.

We could not do all we do without our volunteers’ valuable support. We consider volunteers to be a core part of our operations. We are so thankful to those who safely supported us throughout the pandemic and ensured the success of our various programmes. In all, this year 102 volunteers contributed a total of 2822 hours.

Our Volunteer Board of Directors is critical to the functioning of the non-profit society. They meet several times a year and oversee the annual general meeting of members. Meetings this past year were held on Zoom. The Board’s responsibilities include helping to guide strategic planning and the mandate of the organization, financial oversight, and hiring and overseeing the Executive Director position.
