Activations

The Culture Compass contains a wealth of information and opportunities waiting to be explored. Activations provide community members and visitors with fun experiences to use the online mapping tool to explore local culture.

ACTIVATIONS IN 2022

▶ Heritage Week – Telling Traditions, February-March invited community submissions ▶Tourism Challenge – Treasure Hunt, April-May featured 7 assets listed on Culture Compass for tourism professionals - over 600 downloads! ▶ Culture Days - Culture Compass Lab, in partnership with West Vancouver Community Arts Council, September ▶Craft Beer Week – Treasure Hunt, Oct 11 clues featured stories and local breweries, October ▶Treasure Hunts (themed and neighbourhood-based), ongoing

Partner and sponsor, Vancouver’s North Shore supported these activations through prize donations and helping spread the word! Map shows the submissions to Telling Traditions, with community members sharing their cultural traditions and telling us the country these traditions came from. This activation was part of Heritage Week 2022, within the them, ‘Altogether Inclusive’. By sharing, understanding, and celebrating each others traditions, we are a more inclusive community.
