NAVIGATORS EDUCATION PROGRAMME
Using the North Shore Culture Compass, the Navigators Education Programme connects educators and teachers to ideas and resources to engage students in learning about the culture, heritage, history, geography and diversity of Vancouver’s North Shore. The free, downloadable guide is suitable for in-class or outdoor learning, developed for grades 6-12 within BC curriculum, with many activities adaptable for younger ages and groups.

DATA INSIGHTS
Culture Compass Data Insights help strengthen the cultural sector on the North Shore by informing planning, programming, and marketing.
Data Insights has 3 components:
Audience maps - created using postal code information collected from an organization’s audience Community Snapshots - compiled using demographic information from Statistics Canada and Environics Local Area Profiles - compiled by layering the audience maps and organizational location with statistical information
Knowing who a cultural asset is serving is helpful for planning and important to allow an organization to adapt and reflect the communities they serve by offering programs that are relevant and inclusive. The findings from Data Insights can be used to plan activities, programming, and events, decide where to concentrate marketing and outreach efforts, inform pricing or fee structures, or to support funding applications and augment reports to funders and sponsors, to best engage with and serve your community.
