TERM 1, WEEK 5, 28th FEBRUARY 2025

CHANGES TO THE TRAFFIC FLOW

Please be advised that cars wishing to park in the upper car park will need to drive slowly through the centre of the pickup zone and into the parking areas.

This ensures all cars are driving in the one direction and helps with a smoother process for the sign duty staff member.

STUDENTS CANNOT BE DROPPED OFF AT SCHOOL BEFORE 8:15am

As we start the new year, it is important to remember that students cannot be dropped off at school prior to 8:15am.

Teachers start supervision duties at 8:15am, therefore it is unsafe for any student to be onsite without a parent actively supervising them before this time.

CHAMPIONING YOUNG PEOPLE IN A DIGITAL WORLD: PARENT EVENING

Tuesday 4th March 2025, 6:15pm – 8:30pm

Join us for a special parents’ evening, dedicated to supporting our young people in today’s digital world.

At Northside Christian College, we understand that our youth face challenges from hyper‑sexualised content to online influences that can affect their wellbeing. Yet, we believe they have the capacity to live courageously, with empathy, respect, and kindness.

We are proud to partner with Daniel Principe, a youth advocate and educator recently nominated for the 2025 Australian of the Year. Drawing on the latest research, his work provides practical tools and insights for families navigating the digital age.

Daniel will address topics including consent, relationships, stereotypes, and the influence of porn culture, offering strategies to manage the social and cultural forces shaping wellbeing.

We'd love you to be part of this insightful and empowering evening.

Tickets are FREE but essential, book now to secure your place.

LABOUR DAY LONG WEEKEND

Monday 10th March 2025

The College will be closed on Monday 10th March for Labour Day. We hope our families enjoy a well-deserved long weekend.

The Wellbeing Barometer survey is an invaluable tool for schools, providing critical insights into the mental health and wellbeing of young people. This annual survey identifies areas of concern, highlights resilience and adaptability in students, and emphasises the importance of preventative strategies to promote positive outcomes.

Participation in this survey is strongly encouraged, as it offers a comprehensive view of students' experiences, challenges, and achievements. By capturing a detailed understanding of young people's experiences, the survey supports a tailored approach to enhancing their mental, emotional, and social wellbeing. It helps to identify strengths and areas for improvement, as well as pinpoint opportunities for early intervention.

The survey is part of an ongoing longitudinal study, and we encourage you to take a few moments to complete the survey for each of your children. Responses remain anonymous and should be based on your observations over the last 12 months By working together, we can reduce the long-term impact of mental illness and make a meaningful difference to the lives of our young people for a brighter future.

We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this Special Report, and as always, we welcome your feedback.

If you do have any concerns about the wellbeing of your child, please contact the school for further information or seek medical or professional help
