I’m thrilled to share a report on our amazing Year 6 Mixed AFL team’s performance in the district sports season. As a member of the team, I couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved together.

We played games against different schools in our district, and guess what? We won half of them! I think it’s pretty awesome. Sure, our win-loss record may not be perfect, but the progress we made was outstanding.

At the beginning of the season, most of us had limited experience and skills in AFL. Promoted to Division A we were up against some tough competitors! But we didn’t let that discourage us. We dedicated ourselves to training and worked hard to improve our individual and team skills. Our coaches guided us through drills and exercises to enhance our kicking, handballing, marking, and game tactics. It wasn’t easy, but we persevered. Thanks to Mr McInnes and Mr Longley our coaches!

As the season progressed, we could see the results of our efforts. Our kicks became more accurate, our handballs more precise, and our teamwork more cohesive. We developed a better understanding of the game and improved our decision-making on the field.

While winning games was undoubtedly exciting, the most important aspect was the progress we made in our skills and the friendships we built along the way. We supported and encouraged each other, celebrating our achievements and learning from our mistakes.

It was very exciting to have an ex-afl player come to watch and encourage us in our last game of the season. This was especially exciting for our Collingwood fans!

In conclusion, our Year 6 Mixed AFL team had a fantastic season. Winning half of our games and witnessing our skill improvement was an incredible experience. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a dedicated and determined team. Let’s carry this spirit into future seasons and continue to strive for success!
