Thriving Minds Conference

A selection of Year 11 and 12 students recently attended the prestigious philosophical Thriving Minds Conference held at Scotch College. The conference featured speakers from Oxford University, Julie Arliss and Dr. Christopher O’Neill, who captivated our students with their insightful presentations. The topics covered were diverse and thought-provoking, ranging from examining epistemology and understanding the concept of knowing what you know and what you don’t know, to gaining insights into the challenging entry questions at Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Additionally, students had the opportunity to explore the fascinating science of happiness and delve into the intriguing implications of social physics. It was an enriching experience that undoubtedly broadened our students’ perspectives and fueled their intellectual curiosity.
