Meet a Machine an interactive experience for all ages The 3rd annual Meet a Machine is gearing up to be bigger and better than ever. The event creates an interactive experience for kids to touch, sit on, and even ride machines like: agriculture and forestry equipment, excavators, Boom Trucks, Army vehicles, Forestry Machines, KSAR Command Truck Vintage vehicles and a dragster. Naturally, there will be many, many opportunities for kids to honk the horn. Volunteer organizer Jim Moorhead laughs, “Let ‘em honk all they want, this event is for them!” The event is a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), a leading charitable organization that is dedicated to funding type 1 diabetes research. At the helm of this massive event, Jim is intent on making the day an unforgettable event for children of all ages. According to Shianne Carswell, JDRF Senior Fundraising & Development Co-ordinator, “The event has drawn over 3000 people each year so far.
