Area Jeune Ballet / VERVE Mixed Bill An evening of charged, riotous dance created in Geneva and Leeds.

Area Jeune Ballet perform two works: the dramatic and ritualistic SAM by Jose Agudo, and Kiss & Fly by Gil Carlos Harush, a work about the sights, chance meetings and conversations we take for granted.

Completing the programme, VERVE’s dancers storm the stage with Shutdown by Noa Zuk & Ohad Fishof, a fierce celebration of movement and rhythm.

70/30 Split bYOB WORLD PREMIERE, as part of Transform 19 bYOB’s performers are trapped between conflicting notions of masculinity, bravado and belonging. Dressed in riot gear and dancing distorted steps of times gone by, four men grapple with their roles, within the performance and the world.

70/30 Split are choreographers Sophie Unwin and Lydia Cottrell, known for satirical, provocative and bizarre dance theatre. In bYOB, they reflect on the rise of nationalism and mob mentality.

A 70/30 Split and Northern School of Contemporary Dance co-production. Commissioned by The Place and DanceXchange and supported by Yorkshire Dance, Arts Council England and Leeds Inspired, part of Leeds City Council.

Mixed Bill EDGE Dance Company presents a mixed bill of new works by awardwinning choreographers Hagit Yakira, Fabio Liberti and Jorge Crecis.

The ensemble is made up of 13 powerful dancers from across the globe including Canada, Spain, France, USA and the UK. Join EDGE on a deeply personal and collaborative journey in celebration of life, death and the challenges in between.

Double Bill Salzburg-based dance company BODHI PROJECT offer new works by leading international choreographers Lisi Estaràs and Guy Nader & Maria Campos.

EDGE is the postgraduate company of London Contemporary Dance School, under the artistic direction of Jeanne Yasko.

From raw expression to physical precision, each work pushes the definition of contemporary dance to its limits. Performed by a company of six exceptional dancers, see works at the forefront of dance today.

BODHI PROJECT is a postgraduate Artist-in-Practice dance programme run by the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD).

A bold and ambitious evening of dance created by internationally-acclaimed and award-winning choreographers Joan Clevillé (Catalonia), Maxine Doyle (UK), Ben Wright (UK), and Noa Zuk & Ohad Fishof (Israel).

VERVE is the postgraduate company of Northern School of Contemporary Dance and is led by Artistic Director Matthew Robinson.

Centres for Advanced Training (CATs) at NSCD and Northern Ballet come together to showcase some of Yorkshire’s finest young dance talent.

See new work created for them by Alleyne Dance, James Cousins, Anthony Middleton, David Nixon (Artistic Director of Northern Ballet), Yoko Ichino and Cara O’Shea.

Centre for Advanced Training is a national, pre-vocational training scheme that prepares exceptional 13-17 year olds for future careers in dance.

NSCD In Focus Stepping up to the plate. Coming into focus.

Students on the one-year Access course at Northern School of Contemporary Dance perform original work created as part of their study, plus a new commission by acclaimed hip-hop choreographer Anthony Matsena.

NSCD’s one-year Access to Higher Education Diploma in Contemporary Dance is nationally recognised for preparing talented young dancers for further professional training.
