Prioritizing workforce wellness is essential to sustaining the level of care we provide. On March 18, we recognize Health Workforce Wellbeing Day of Awareness—a time to acknowledge these challenges and focus on support strategies. A trauma-informed care toolkit is available to help staff regulate stress, reduce burnout, and protect well-being. One simple technique is the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding method, which helps manage stress in the moment:

The 54321 (or 5-4-3-2-1) method is a grounding exercise designed to manage acute stress and reduce anxiety. It involves identifying 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste.

The bottom line: By fostering a culture of well-being, we not only strengthen ourselves but also the communities we serve.

A nationwide initiative to educate youth on the science behind drug use and addiction, connecting students, educators, and healthcare providers to promote awareness and prevention.

National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week®, or NDAFW, is an annual health observance that inspires dialogue about the science of drug use and addiction among youth. It provides an opportunity to bring together scientists, students, educators, healthcare providers, and community partners to help advance the science and address youth drug and alcohol use in communities and nationwide.

National Nutrition Month® is an annual campaign established in 1973 by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. During the month of March, everyone is invited to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits.
