Hockey Fixture vs Hallfield
The Year 5 & 6 girls enjoyed a hockey match at Hallfield in the rain on Wednesday. They made progress throughout the afternoon and tried hard. They learnt a lot about the game as well as starting to gain an understanding about positioning on the pitch.
Year 6 Visit to Harborne Library
Year 6 took part in a community trip to help save Harborne Library. The children, passionate about their local library, gave thoughtful statements on why they use it and why it’s so important to preserve. They spoke about how the library offers a quiet place to read, learn, and explore new ideas, highlighting the positive impact it has on their education and creativity. The public were incredibly impressed by the children's well-mannered behaviour and eloquence, showcasing their maturity and commitment to this important cause. Their voices added weight to the campaign to protect this valuable community resource."
Welsh Ironman
A huge congratulations to Mr Hines & Mr Strong who both successfully completed the Welsh Ironman last Sunday. The course totalled a distance of 226.3 kilometres. I know that you will all join us in congratulating them on this fantastic achievement as well as recognising the resilience they have demonstrated.
Outdoor Learning
The Year 3 & 4 group went to Edgbaston Reservoir on Wednesday afternoon. They played a scavenger hunting game before making shelters for squirrels. They worked collaboratively and were very proud of their finished shelters.
The Year 5 & 6 group visited Harborne Library on Thursday afternoon. They learned all about the library before choosing some books to take home and finishing with a story from Jane. We successfully joined several children up to the library and hopefully will have some more joined up for our next visit in two weeks. The children represented the school excellently, showing exemplary manners.
