Year 3 - Parent Lunch

On Wednesday, we had the pleasure of inviting Year 3 parents to join us for lunch. The children were thrilled to have their Mums and Dads with them, and everyone enjoyed the vegetable curry together!

Year 6 Squash

This half term, Year 6 have had the amazing opportunity to receive high-quality squash coaching, at The Edgbaston Priory Club. Every Wednesday, the children have challenged each other to spirited games of squash, developed their knowledge of the rules and strategies of the game and impressed their coaches with their positive attitudes. Year 6 have really taken to squash with passion and enthusiasm.

Reception Maths

In our Maths starters this week, Reception have been exploring 2D and 3D shapes. The children worked really hard to sort our shapes into groups and even had a go at naming some of them! They have also been exploring how heavy and light different objects in our classroom are. They used the balance scales in groups and found that our toy lobster was the heaviest!

Year 3 & 4 - Enginuity & The Museum of Iron

Year 3 and 4 had a fabulous trip to Iron Bridge Gorge on Wednesday. They took part in a ‘marvellous metals’ workshop, which included: casting objects from pewter, learning about finger printing, extracting iron form iron ore and learning about magnetism. The children were then able to get hands on in the museum and investigate how machines work. In The Museum of Iron the children leant how a blast furnace worked as well as looking at models of The Iron Bridge.

Year 5 & 6 - Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery!

Well done Year 5 and 6 for a fantastic trip to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. We were lucky enough to take part in a fascinating workshop about Life and Death in Ancient Egypt, highlights of which included holding a two thousand year old death mask, and taking part in a re-enactment of a mummification ceremony! Blake was our Pharaoh and unfortunately he was judged very poorly!
