Year 5 & 6 English

Year 5 and 6 had a joint English lesson this week. Year 5 listened to persuasive speeches given by the Year 6 children on the contentious topic of Egyptian Archaeology and the ownership of artefacts. We discussed Howard Carter and tried to decide whether he should be remembered as a heroic, pioneering Egyptologist or a greedy grave robber. Here is the result of our vote!

Year 3 & 4 History

Year 3 and 4 have rounded off their History topic by designing and planning their very own Windrush Celebration Day. The children had to think of a suitable location for their event, and choose the activities and games they wanted to play. Their mind maps, posters and entry tickets all looked fabulous!

Year 5 Science

Year 5 have been studying separation techniques. Starting with rock salt they used the processes of dissolving, filtering and evaporation to separate two solids. They successfully collected sand in a filter paper and salt in the pan.

Year 3 Science

Year 3 have been looking at soil and rocks this term. This has included studying fossils and the work of Mary Anning. The children then conducted an experiment to investigate the permeability of different soils.

Year 3 & 4 Design & Technology

Year 3 & 4 have been getting creative in STEM designing and building their own monsters with a
