Express your appreciation for God's creation by making a beautifully-crafted nature journal in this creative camp. Students will use mixed-media art techniques, learn modern lettering skills and journal about their original designs. High-quality sketchbooks and supplies are provided.

TECHNOLOGY CAMP - Rising Kindergarten through Grade 2

This color-ageous camp is perfect for students who love the computer and love having fun! Campers will learn to use all of the drawing tools in the Kid Pix program as well as basic skills in Microsoft Excel, with each day's activities being centered around one color - from snacks to computer projects to clothing. At the end of the week, campers will use everything they've learned to make a fantastic rainbow project.

COMPUTER CODING CAMP - Rising Grades 3 through 5

Food and computers? They're the perfect combination in this fun coding camp. Campers will spend the week exploring their favorite foods and using several types of technology, including creating a PowerPoint presentation, an Excel document and learning basic coding through Scratch and Code.org. They will end the week by coding a game, museum or conversation between sprites while sharing a feast of everyone's favorite foods!

S P E C I A L T Y EXPLORATIONS - Rising Kindergarten through Grade 5

Upper School, Smith Gym

Kick off your summer on five super fun field trips exploring the world around us! We will learn about the ocean, space, animals, nature and science with field trips to some of our area's coolest places: the Virginia Aquarium, the Virginia Air and Space Center, the Norfolk Zoo, First Landing State Park and the Children’s Museum of Portsmouth.

GRACE BIBLE CHURCH "SUMMER'S BEST WEEK" - Rising Kindergarten through Grade 5 There's a good reason they call it "Summer's Best Week." If your child has never experienced Grace Bible Church's upbeat, modern version of Vacation Bible School, they are in for a spectacular treat! We will provide transportation to and from the Lower School to Grace's Lynnhaven Campus each day, where campers will enjoy worship, snacks, activity centers and an incredible production that helps them apply spiritual truths at their level of understanding. Cost is $10 per camper to cover SBW fee and transportation.

This is a crafty week of hands-on, unplugged fun! Campers will learn the importance of safety, proper measurement, and following plans all while experiencing the satisfaction of putting together projects that they can take home, show off and use! DIY projects will include a tent, camp chairs, and bow & arrow.

SOCCER CAMP - Rising Kindergarten through Grade 5 Upper School, Moore Family Field Learn technical skills focused on dribbling, passing, shooting, ball control and overall game play. Campers will be grouped by ability to develop each person's individual needs and will leave prepared for play at all levels, with improved sportsmanship and teamwork, and great new friends! LAY IT ALL OUT! VOLLEYBALL CAMP - Rising Grades 3 through 5 Upper School, Smith Gym Join us as we focus on the volleyball fundamentals of passing & diving, hitting & setting, serving, and team play. Our coaches know the stronger your skills, the stronger your game so you will leave ready to hit the court competitively! This is a perfect start for girls or boys wanting to play on NCS Volleyball teams, as well as helping players who have knowledge of the game perfect their skills. CHEER CAMP - Rising Kindergarten through Grade 5 Lower School Gym Get ready for an awesome week of cheer camp! This is the perfect place for girls to try cheer for the first time or work with a former competitive cheerleader to strengthen their skills. We will jump, tumble, dance, stunt, and cheer our way through the week while building great friendships and developing godly character through daily devotions. Campers will provide a showcase for parents on the last day. LEADER: Emma Slopnick

LARRY WARD'S BASKETBALL CAMP - Age 7 through Rising Grade 5 Upper School, Smith Gym Don't miss NCS Varsity Coach Larry Ward, who is in his 28th year of training players during summer camps. Players of all abilities and knowledge of the game will develop fundamentals of passing, shooting, dribbling, rebounding and defense, while they better their game with daily league play in teams grouped by age and skill. LARRY WARD'S BEACH BASKETBALL CAMP - Ages 5 through 7

Beach Campus Gym Don't miss Coach Ward's early skills camp just for the Beach Campus! This is a fun, low-key introduction to the game with 8' baskets and a 5:1 camper/coach ratio. Includes daily snack, t-shirt and a basketball. LEADER: Larry Ward

SUPER SUMMER SPORTS CLUB - Rising Kindergarten through Grade 5

Beach Campus Gym

This active camp packs the basic skills of soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, tennis, football, and softball/baseball/ kickball into one week-long extravaganza! Fun games will introduce the skills for each sport, with a few of our PE favorites and plenty that are brand new. Campers' hearts will be pumping as they become confident in new sports, practice sportsmanship and develop great teamwork!

A T H L E T I C S GOLF CAMP - Rising Grades 8 - 12 Upper School and Golf Courses Whether you are a pro or brand new and want to learn the basics, this camp will increase your expertise and enjoyment of the challenging game of golf. We will spend time on the range at various courses in the local area, as well as having a time of devotion each day. Beginners will learn the foundations of a solid swing, precise short game and stellar putting, while seasoned players sharpen their skills. LEADER: Tyler Ashworth

SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION Schedule: Morning camps run from 8am until 11:45am unless otherwise noted in description. Afternoon camps run from 12:15pm until 4pm. Full-day campers will have 30 minutes between sessions to eat lunch as a group. Please send a bag lunch, drink and snacks as needed for full-day campers. All campers should bring a water bottle every day. Attire:

Please ensure campers wear closed-toed shoes and appropriate clothing for their activity every day.

Locations: Camps are available at all three campuses and will be based out of the campus noted in the description for each specific camp. Please take note that some camps in the Norfolk Lower School directory are held at the Upper School.
