At Nordisk we believe that “Nature is luxury” and that spending time in nature improves our quality of life
Dear outdoor friends,
I’m very happy to introduce this first edition of our Glamping with Nordisk Magazine.
We hope to inspire others to join our journey, continuously merging the serenity of nature with the essence of luxury. Our Scandinavian roots drive us, embodying a belief that “Nature is Luxury” and that spending time in nature indeed improves our quality of life.
In the face of a growing demand for sustainable yet high quality travel experiences, glamping emerges as the ideal solution. It offers unparalleled experiences with minimal environmental impact, perfectly aligning with the shifting priorities of today’s consumers and businesses alike. This magazine aims to guide campsites, vineyards, historical estates and others toward embracing glamping, providing a lucrative, eco-friendly alternative to traditional tourism accommodations.
Over the past decade, Nordisk has pioneered the global glamping movement, demonstrating that
true luxury can be sustainable. Our expertise is reflected in every product we offer, from tents to furnishings, all designed to harmonize with nature while providing unmatched comfort and style.
The Glamping with Nordisk Magazine is created to explain the global glamping phenomenon, packed with inspirational content, practical advice, and insights into the business opportunities awaiting. We invite you to explore the potential of glamping with us, leveraging our heritage, expertise, and commitment to sustainability to create unforgettable experiences for your guests.
Together, let’s redefine luxury as an experience that not only enhances our lives but also respects and preserves the beauty of Nature.
At Nordisk we place great emphasis on design. The goal is to make a real difference for you. For the adventurer.
To us, great design means that products need to do more than just look good. They need to feel good, be innovative, have a clear purpose and a high degree of functionality to serve that purpose. And finally, to be made with respect for nature. All very traditional Danish design values that are deeply rooted and respected within the whole Nordisk organization and reflected in any product with our iconic polar bear logo.
And most importantly; a quality product will prove to be a reliable friend for years. Making sure that our products will last, is the best way to reduce mass consumption, thus ensuring an eternal playground for adventure.

PFCs (Per-fluorinated compounds) are generally part of DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatments due to their superior water and oil repellency. PFCs are harmful to the environment, and Nordisk is constantly working on removing all PFCs from our apparel — and we are getting closer and closer to our goal.
Having our own Care & Repair service center in Germany, allow us to offer a fast and reliable repair service, ensuring your product a longer lifespan and giving new life to damaged products.

From preparation of raw materials to actual production (including the people engaged in it) to the use of the products by the end consumer.

The chilled wine glass perfectly contrasts the warm air of the fading summer day. Through the fluttering canvas, you witness the sun dip below the horizon, as if it were a masterpiece hung there, just for you.
That is what glamping is all about.
Spacious and light cotton tents filled with soft blankets and cushions and candlelit lanterns reflecting in a mirror on your nightstand. No sore back from that pinecone you didn’t get rid of under your tent. You wake up in a real bed with soft sheets.
Your private million-star hotel room
Glamping is a combination of glamorous and camping - it’s
about bringing the luxury of a hotel room into the wild and wonderful outdoors.
Glamping has become a big trend as more and more people embrace the outdoors as a real alternative to charter holidays. But how exactly do you go from camping to glamping?
At Nordisk we are experts in glamping, and here we share some of the best tricks for creating the ultimate luxury adventure - with your own unique style.
Glamping seamlessly marries the indulgence of luxury with the serene embrace of nature, offering an elevated outdoor experience that cherishes comfort, sustainability, and the inherent value of disconnecting in style
A concept project by Nordisk
NORDISK VILLAGE is a global glamping concept, using Nordisk cotton tents to communicate and promote local folklore, art and cuisine through an extraordinary luxurious experience. The villages are designed with a conceptual mix of Scandinavian simplicity and a local look, smell, taste and feel, based on unified design thinking, thorough research and dialogue.
All NORDISK VILLAGES are partnerships with local operators and can be established using:
• Stylistic design of interior and exterior spaces
• Architectural outline of the designated area
• Storytelling and folklore
• The creation of a communal kitchen
• Layout of private, separate eating and relax areas
• Service Concept
• Addition of an on-site shop where NORDISK gear is available to buy whilst on holiday.
Each Nordisk Village tells its own story. In Venice, our aim is to find the point where Viking folklore meets the Doges and the Republic of the Serenissima, where Danish Golden Age neoclassical style finds common ground with Andrea Palladio and the sumptuous architecture of the Veneto region - in short, to combine what is best of these two extraordinarily rich and powerful cultures within the light and open space of a Nordisk cotton tent.
The design is key to your comfort and we have taken the best of nordic simplicity and added a local twist; each village tells a story, each takes from its surroundings and finds a communality which attaches it for ever to its setting. It is uniquely separate yet perennially connected to its surroundings; standalone yet forever part of each specific location.
Nordisk Village is a working village, as it should be. Here all who live within pass their day relaxing in the open space Nordic design interior or cooking at the communal outdoor kitchen, taking herbs and spices from the garden which surrounds it. It is a place of socialising and sharing, a community within the pines. Where will we go next? Stay with us to find out…
The search for ‘Hygge®’, nordic relaxation and perfection, is inspiring and to be able to take this concept out of a Nordic context and to make this idea a physical reality is what makes Nordisk Village such a unique and exciting experience; this is not just a vacation but much, much more.
Rediscover the authentic outdoors and experience camping like never before. Each village tells a story, follows a concept, and combines modern comfort, interior design and functionality to inject holiday spirit into a natural outdoor space filled with all the comforts of home.
Glamping means glamorous camping and is about bringing the luxury we know from hotel rooms into the wonderful outdoor world.
Large, bright and unique cotton tents furnished with lovely beds and soft chairs.
Glamping appeals to the dream of getting back to a simpler lifestyleclose to nature without compromising on comfort.
Glamping is outdoor living at its best - and more popular than ever.
From the first Nordisk Village in Venice, our curated glamping camps have now spread across 3 continents.

Buochs, Schweiz Pakchong District, Thailand Kattegat Strand, Denmark Gordevio, Schweiz Fanø, Denmark Silkeborg, Denmark Kangiusaq, Greenland Klitmøller, DenmarkIt is no challenge finding look-alikes on the market. But what is it exactly that sets Nordisk apart from the rest? Here we illustrate the visible and invisible features that make Nordisk invincible.
All models are delivered with new strong steel poles, coated with electrostatic powder for an exclusive finish; pin-free for tents, tarp poles have strong reversible pins for extra flexibility. Heights are easily adjustable with a double click system, supported by an intuitive guide line.
You can always recognize a Nordisk tent on the classic Sandshell colour, the polar bear logos and the Danish Dannebrog flag label.
Tents and inner cabins alike are designed to offer comfortable stand-up height and optimal light conditions to inspire energy and reflect the rhythm of the day. You will find gear loops in the ceiling that can also be used to attach sleeping cabins for added privacy and room division.
Our packsacks are strong and protective. They are extremely pack friendly, so even if compression is not optimal – you still have room to get your tent in. When doing a careful compression job, you can even fit it in with the Zip-in floor attached!
All windows can be operated from the inside and have a mesh for optimal ventilation and protection from mosquitos and bugs.
Your optional re-enforced ground sheet works as a Zip-in floor, with complete water protection and makes the Nordisk tent both much more comfortable and suitable for all-year use. The ground sheet is pegged to the ground with strong D rings. Durable and oversized zippers.
Even though we take pride in making classical and simplistic looking tents, we go out of our way for innovating with near-invisible functionality.
The patented Nordisk Turtle Hub® system has helped us create pin and eyelet-free constructions on several models that will increase strength, ease pitching and remove weak spots where water could potentially enter the construction.
In several models, we have come up with tarp-like experiences to create a 360 o outlook from inside. Roll up the sides on your Asgard, open up your Midgard or try the new Utgard or Ydun Sky!
You will always find multiple ventilation options throughout the tents. The Technical Cotton fabric is extremely breathable and ensures a pleasant inner climate and a reduced or no condensation experience.
Throughout our tents, you will only find quality guy line mounted with strong D-rings and our innovative adjustment sliders to make sure your tent is always looking and performing at its best.
We have introduced singular peg points for easy pitching, along with strong and adjustable webbings that allow you to adjust skirts and protect them from dirt and rain.
Nordisk Cotton tents always feature a large 2-layer entrance, with mosquito mesh, YKK zippers and dedicated storage space for keeping the doors open.
From SS23, a magnetic snap-closure is added to the outer door for extra convenience.
The Nordisk Technical Cotton fabric is designed to offer a truly extraordinary tent experience!
The natural cotton offers a unique and breathable inner climate, and the mix with man-made fibres reduces weight and adds durability and weather performance.
Adding to the natural water protection from cotton expansion, we have developed a PFC free and European produced water repellant treatment to further strengthen the performance of the Technical Cotton.
UV radiation is the worst enemy of material deterioration. So to protect the material and extend lifetime of your tent, we have added a shield to reduce the speed of UV implications. It is called a UV absorber and is an invisible layer of protection and is completely environmentally friendly.
The Technical Cotton fabric construction and the engineered protective shield offer a high degree of UV skin protection from the volatile ultraviolet radiation. The factor is the highest possible and with 50+, you are protected against minimum 98% of the UV radiation.
Humidity, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to dirt and grime – all attack the fabric and can lead to mildew, fungicidal mold, and eventually… rot. Nordisk has added an effective protective property to the Technical Cotton which will inhibit fungus and will extend protection by as much as 75% compared to old generation technical cotton.
These invisible updates will prolong the lifetime, improve the comfort and reduce the environmental impact of our entire range of cotton tents.
A great glamping tent should be spacious, comfortable and reliable.
Spacious means room to live. Often a tent is just a place to store your luggage and sleep at night. But you want to have space for socializing, relaxing and even dancing. Think of it as your living room and prioritise both empty space and the height to move freely inside.
Comfortable means you need to prioritise breathability, indoor climate and light. Just as you wouldn’t choose a hotel room without air conditioning, don’t choose a tent that can’t breathe. Silicone or PU-coatings may produce high water columns, but they drastically restrict breathability. And while “10.000 mm” looks impressive, don’t be fooled by high numbers. 350 is more than enough to keep you dry. After all, how often do you expect to have more than 35 cm of solid water standing on top of your tent? Choose a cotton or polycotton tent without a coating for the best indoor climate. Preferably in a light colour that does not cause overheating and doesn’t restrict sunlight.
Reliable means steady, strong and protective.
Even Paradise sees the occasional storm or shower from above. And even eternal sunshine is harmful to both humans and fabrics. So quality matters! Nordisk has a century of experience producing textiles and stitches that stand up to extended use in the outdoors.
With its majestic architecture, its welcoming gates and its spacious interior, sleeping outdoors has never been more glamorous.
Build your own cotton castle camp, suiting your needs for space and separate sleeping rooms.

When you start decorating your glamping tent, imagine you’re furnishing a one-bedroom apartment:
• You’ll need a place to sleep, so choose a folding bed if you’re just setting up for a shorter period. Or move the entire bed outside if the tent will be in the garden all summer.
• You need a good lounge chair so you can curl up and relax, or sit comfortably when you want to read a book.
• Find small items of furniture to create a homely environment and get some storage space in the bargain.

You need to consider the soft elements that tie the space together.
Find a small carpet, some lovely plaids and pretty cushions. This is where you can really play with your personal style and put your touch on your glamping tent.
• You might go for a bohemian look, with matching colours and patterns that give a very relaxed feel.
• Your style might be better suited to Nordic minimalism, where you go for few things and more subdued colours, to find your inner peace.
• You can also go for the real luxurious hotel vibe with slightly darker colours and materials like wood, velvet and brass.
Add the final touches to create the right cosiness.
Different candles are a must have, especially when you get to the later evening hours and want to really spice up the cosy atmosphere.
• String lights and lanterns inside the tent and outside are the easiest way to Hygge®.
• Picking some flowers from the surrounding nature and putting them in a vase also helps to add to the homely atmosphere.
• Always bring a personal item as the finishing touch to creating a home away from home.
