SPRINGING OUR WAY TO SUMMER WITH THE HELP OF ANON DRINKS!

The weather over here in the UK is... inclement, to say the least, but being a bunch of Pollyanna’s at NonTox HQ we are manifesting better weather and some warmer, sunnier days!

So let us introduce our Brand of the Month for April - ANON Drinks!

The first move towards getting our sun on? A great summer drink! Arguably, there is no better summer tipple, than ANON Drink’s English Garden, made up as a Pimm’s alternative!

Blends of natural flavours combining classic summer fruits, cucumber, mint, orange, apple and strawberry. Make English Garden a delightful drink for any occassion

Best served in a tall glass with plenty of ice, a sprig of mint, topped up with lemonade, tonic or (for the decadent), an AF prosecco! Or why not try the “Lady Garden” AF cocktail?

If English Garden isn’t your thing, then why not try the ANON No Groni? A Negroni, sans the alcohol?

Serve in a tumbler over plenty of ice with a slice of fresh orange, for an enlivening drink with hints of bitter orange, juniper and aromatic herbs.

Ingredients

40ml English Garden

40ml pineapple juice

40ml apple juice

Splash of raspberry puree

20ml elderflower cordial

10ml fresh lime

10ml fresh lemon

Slice of cucumber

This refreshing drink is perfect for a hot summer day. It is low in calories and nonalcoholic, so you can enjoy it guilt-free. The fruit juices give it a delicious fruity flavour, while the elderflower cordial adds a touch of floral sweetness

MARKET RESEARCHER SEES ADAPTOGENS GOING MAINSTREAM

According to the folks at GlobalData, who are always keeping their fingers on the pulse of consumer trends, there's been a real buzz around adaptogens lately, especially in the realm of functional beverages.

So, what are adaptogens exactly? Well, they're like little health superheroes! Packed with properties that can help us tackle stress, boost our immunity, and even give us a mood lift. With everyone looking for ways to manage stress and anxiety, adaptogens are becoming the new go-to

GlobalData's survey of 500 consumers found that mental well-being is a top concern, especially among younger folks. And guess what? Adaptogens are right there in the spotlight, stealing the show with their stress-busting and anxiety-easing powers.

But, as with any superhero, adaptogens have their limits We're still figuring out things like proper dosage and how they interact with other medications So, while they're super promising, they're not a one-sizefits-all solution just yet.

When it comes to adaptogens, there's a whole garden of options out there, from ginseng to Rhodiola to Schisandra. Among them, ginseng seems to be the crowd favorite, bringing its A-game to the wellness party

The cool thing about adaptogens is that they're pretty versatile. You can sprinkle into all sorts of drinks – carbonates, juice teas, you name it – without messing with taste. Plus, you can find them in supplem form too, making them super easy to incorporate into your daily routine.

So, whether you're sipping on a calming or enjoying a refreshing juice, adaptogen might just be the wellness boost you've b looking for Just remember, they're like sidekicks on your health journey – powe allies, but not magical fixes.

NOGLOOP! Drink Martys

It's cheers all around for Marty’s Virgin Bloody Mary as it clinches a prestigious silver medal at the World Alcohol Free Awards This locally crafted gem from Market Harborough has soared to the top ranks of alcohol-free beverages, impressing judges with its bold flavors and unique blend of ingredients. With its savory profile featuring sun-ripened tomatoes and a touch of apple cider vinegar, Marty’s Virgin Bloody Mary stands out among the crowd of contenders. Established by industry experts Chrissie Parkinson and Chris Losh, the World Alcohol-Free Awards continues to shine a spotlight on the best of the best in the non-alcoholic drinks realm.

Laura from NonTox HQ had the pleasure of tasting Marty’s Virgin Bloody Mary (and roped her partner in for good measure)!

This is what they had to say:

A well textured drink, gorgeous tomato flavour, celery and spice - so very much like a “normal bloody mary”. With Tabasco and lemon present to top off this very refreshing offering. It’s a great alcohol free alternative.

Club Soda calls for government clarity on low abv drinks

Club Soda is advocating for clearer regulations on low-alcohol drinks - citing a current lack of distinction between alcohol-free and lowalcohol beverages.

They argue that as moderation becomes more prevalent, there is a growing demand for drinks that allow for socializing without high alcohol content.

Founder Laura Willoughby criticizes government inaction on defining terms like 'low' and 'reduced' alcohol, stating that it hinders consumer choice.

The report, titled "The Forgotten Middle," highlights the need for clarity in labeling to better serve evolving consumer habits and preferences.

This call for action was echoed by industry experts at The Pub Show, who emphasized the importance of clear descriptors for consumers to navigate the market effectively.

What do you think? Is labelling on low alcohol content a problem?

Keep your eyes on the Target ;)

Exciting news from Target! They're diving headfirst into the world of nonalcoholic drinks, and it's making waves.

Picture this: you're strolling down the aisles of Target, and suddenly, you spot a whole section dedicated to zeroproof beverages Pretty cool, right? Well, it's not just cool it's a sign that nonalcoholic drinks are becoming a big deal.

Target is teaming up with Sèchey, a nonalcoholic beverage company, to bring their drinks to the masses. This partnership means that you can find your favorite booze-free beverages right alongside your groceries. Talk about convenient!

But here's the thing: as big retailers like Target embrace nonalcoholic drinks, smaller specialty shops, like Boisson, are feeling the pressure. It's a reminder that while we're celebrating the growth of nonalcoholic drinks, we also need to support the little guys.

Now, onto a bit of a surprise: Target is now “carding” people for nonalcoholic drinks Yep, you read that right It might seem strange, but it's all about keeping everyone safe and following the rules

So, next time you're at Target, keep an eye out for those zero-proof drinks. And don't forget your ID!
