Tahko is everything but boring during the summer. The Tahko holiday centre is a great summer destination especially for families with children. Here is a list of some popular activities for children and young-minded people. 1. ACTIVITY PARK The activity park right next to the Tahko Spa offers many activities for children, teenagers and adults. The park has a sports and play area with, for example, a cable slide, parkour area, floor-ball course and fitness equipment.
2. FARM ANIMALS At the Tahko Farmi petting zoo visitors can admire the adorable farm animals and feed them according to instructions. “Morning in the farm” is a guided tour on how to take care of the farm animals such as alpacas, miniature pigs and Mangalica pigs, hens, ducks, sheep, goats, bunnies, ponies, horses and cows. You can also rent a rowboat, an electric outboard motor, a fishing rod, a bicycle or an ATV quad bike at the farm.

3. HORSE SAFARI The Tahko Farmi activity centre and the Riding Club Tahko Areena organize riding safaris for all skill levels and for the whole family. The stables are a home to many lovely ponies and horses. Small children can ride a horse led by an instructor.
7. THE SPA The Tahko Spa Hotel is open through the summer. The pool area has a swimming pool with four 25-metre lanes, therapy and recreation pool, jacuzzi, children's pool, water slide and refreshing outdoor pools. There is also a Wibit -water adventure course, where children can climb, slide and play with friends.
4. AHOLANSAARI ISLAND The Aholansaari camp and holiday centre is a famous travel destination in the Tahko area. In the summer it can be reached from Tahko in about ten minutes by boat. The heart of the island is the historically valuable Paavon pirtti, a traditional Finnish cottage. Two ships, Toivo and Kleofas, take visitors to the island. 5. OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES Outdoor activities, such as fishing and canoeing, are a traditional way to spend a holiday in Tahko. 6. BEACHES Tahko and Nilsiä have several good sand beaches. The most popular ones are the shallow beach of Tahkolahti right in the centre of Tahko and the Sieraniemi beach a little bit farther away.
8. DISC GOLF The Tahko Spa Activity Park also features a 9-hole beginner-friendly disc golf course free of charge. It takes about one hour to complete the course. Golf discs are sold in the Tahko Spa shop and in the Skimac Promenade. 9.. INDOOR SPORTS The Tahko Spa multifunction arena is available on reservation for floor-ball, volleyball, basketball, table tennis or badminton. The Tahko Spa also includes a six lane bowling alley, where you can have fun with either traditional or neon bowling.
