to effectively advocate set asides for federal research and service contracts. Tapestry works to increase our member HBCU revenue, workforce relevance, and jobs, all designed to increase our nation’s HBCU infrastructure and their measured results.

Our HBCU Tapestry Program is a U2G (University to Government) partnership that sets up HBCUs as single prime contractors or combined HBCU Contract Teaming Partners.

NMTC’s Technical Assistance, bidwin strategies, service partners, and business intelligence is only part of the Tapestry offering. Our membership of minority technology companies brings the strategic geographic reach and technical past performance necessary to enable our HBCUs prompt access to government contract opportunities that will further scale operations, revenue stream, faculty/student experience and retention.

HBCU Presidents, Provosts, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and current students concur with the idea that education is best when realworld experiences are made available. NMTC has coupled the technical expertise of our minority owned companies, with the will of our federal government to make ready procurement opportunities for HBCUs where appropriate. The limitations are always framed by capability and capacity of each HBCU to partner with our commercial clients. Our Public/Private member Alliance Partnerships are codified in governance and based on innovation and developed trust.

Presidential Executive Order 13532 – Strengthening HBCUs Capacity President Obama ordered federal agencies to recognize the impact our HBCUs have on our nation’s economic growth. The Executive Order established an initiative that mandates strengthening the capacity of HBCUs to participate in Federal programs while fostering private-public partnerships.

NMTC Alliance Partnership Building Excellence, Trust and Capacity in our Community The governance and due-diligence necessary for effective partnerships requires trust. Our national network of minority technology companies bring untapped past performance and award winning intellectual property to higher education grants and federal contracts. NMTC is recognized by the federal government as a source for FAR 10.0 Market Research. Our strategies provide a comprehensive approach to addressing the economic paradox of growth and disparity. The minority technology industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the US. The US Census data shows there are over 65,000 minority technology companies employing over 500,000 people in the US and abroad. We are a $100 Billion powerhouse of innovation with

capabilities spanning every sector of the technology industry.

With over a decade of stakeholder research behind us, our purposed driven staff and alliance partners are focused on developing new and inductive teaming arrangements that enable research and new service offerings.

NMTC’s District strategy allows our members the opportunity to cultivate local community outreach and needs analysis that caters to those needs centric to each HBCU community.

HBCU member organizations will enjoy resources that will serve to inductively connect campus to industry and vice versa. Agreements may range from grant letters of intent to full alliance MOUs.

Our strategic programming reflects both our vision and key industry growth opportunities. In order to facilitate growth and access NMTC staff and members regularly engage in policy and technology discussions.

Our programs specifically include our education partners. Building an industry alliance with higher education requires patience and trust. Our programs allow for collaboration and brings context, content and process to economic development and job creation.
