About the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Leaders Think Tank: Est in April 2020 Recognizing the need to advocate for and support Nurses and Midwives at the frontline, Nurse, and Midwife Leaders across the country came together in April 2020 to have an amplified voice for the sector. The Uganda Nurse and Midwife Leaders met and established the Nurse and Midwife Leaders Think Tank (NMLTT). The Think Tank aspires to achieve the following objectives: -To advocate for and support Nurses and Midwives across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. -To work together with the National Task Force (NTF) to ensure the inclusion and contribution of Nurses and Midwives in the planning processes of the National Response to COVID-19. This initiative comprises Nurse and Midwife leaders from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Sports, Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council, Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examination Board, Uganda Nurses and Midwives Union, Professional associations like the Critical Care Nursing Association of Uganda, Association of Graduate Nurses and Midwives, Leaders from training institutions and Academia, and Nurse leaders from respective National and Regional Referral Hospitals among others.
