Booknic

In the morning, as the parents walked in, they were excited to read and have a joyful Booknic with their children. As they strolled through NLCS, they admired the quotes of the future visions of NLCS. After a while, they walked through the creative doors of UAE art.

A Booknic is when your parents come to the school and read a book and enjoy a shared snack. As the Booknic started we all sat down on our colorful mats and took out our enjoyable books and started sharing our snacks. We began reading out words from our books that were filled with suspense, mystery and all that everyone enjoys. As time passed, we started to eat all different types of food.

The parents were provided with comprehension questions and asked a few for example.

Who do you most want to read this book? Did this book remind you of any authors? What surprised you most about the book?

These are now the thoughts of some of our grade four students. Taymoor says” It was fun because I got to read with my parents and answer some questions.”
