The Grade 2 Salamanders have been an absolute pleasure to spend each new day with, this year. One of the best pieces of news from this year was the day we were told that we no longer had to wear face masks. To be able to see the students smile every day made such a difference. Along with this the good news that the parent readers were able to come into school meant that the children were very excited each week to hear whose mum or dad would listen to them read this week!

This year, our trip to Aventura and sleepover in school was a definite highlight. To see the students take initiative, build their independence (and their tents) and develop problem-solving and social skills, definitely had a positive affect on their self-esteem and I am sure will be a treasured memory for many years to come.

They should be proud of their collective achievements, whether performing in assembly, representing their houses in competitions or taking part in sports events. It has been a year of curricular and extra-curricular success, with everyone having the opportunity to share their talents, to shine and be recognised for their achievements. The Salamanders have made life-long friends and learned from each other in so many ways. Their unwavering team spirit, their willingness to take a risk and challenge themselves and their passion and enjoyment of learning are the qualities that we have been able to celebrate in school.

This has been an amazing year. The students have worked incredibly hard, always with smiles and laughter prevailing. I have seen them blossom and flourish as individuals and wish them all the best as they continue their learning journey in Grade 3.
