“Miss Allen, where are your class?”

Is a question, you often ask, Little faces full of surprise, To hear an office is where I reside, More confusion as to my pride“Isn’t that lonely, aren’t you sad?” No, not at all-I am glad...

As Head of Early Years, I am still a part Of your journey- the very start, I get to see you walking in, And stop to see you begin to grin, I pause to hear your vivid tales, Full of triumphs, wins and even fails, I watch you swing, jump, and run, Laughing outside- having so much fun.

Down the corridors, I walk on by, I hear you answer, I hear you try, Counting, adding, taking away, Explaining why you used that way. I see your shaky pencil grip, Marks, scribbles, holding the tip, Sounds, CVCs, and names, Learning becomes a well-known game.

Owlets engage in calm class talks, Hatchlings impress with sensible walks, Eaglets invite me in to play, Cygnets always having something to say, Peacocks amaze me with their art, Starlings apply their logic- from the start, Hoopoes will help you dance away, Flamingoes play music to help you sway, While Sparrows love to sit and drawOnly one unicorn? Please, Miss Allen- more!

You have no idea how often I peek, The pride I have when I hear you speak, I get to see all of you grow, Develop as individuals, so much to show, Unleashing your potentialThe extent of which, I already know.
